at this point the film is looking like a pretty optimistic version of the future. At least Prez Camacho seemed to genuinely care about the people and had the sense to listen to the smart guy when he had some solutions
@alfredoprime5495
@alfredoprime5495 Жыл бұрын
If you think about it, it's very optimistic because it implies that things didn't actually fall apart until after the "smart" people developed and created the technology to automate everything. Personally, I don't think we have that much time.

Notice what they were wearing throughout the movie? The costume designer found a small company that made these shoes that were so horrible looking that she thought nobody would ever wear, and that's what we see in the film. Those future shoes turned out to be Crocs!

Hey Informer! The reason you never heard of this film is because they got the rights to use all the brands like Costco and Starbucks, then what they were doing to the brands became apparent in the pre screening. The corporations were big mad and pressured the studio to kill the movie. The studio released it in the absolute minimum extent allowed in the contract, I think it was shown on 20 screens for exactly one day.

As a guy with a good brain, this movie is just saddening to me, because it's showing us a glimpse of a future where we kept going down a path of wrong decision making, and the smartest of people being discouraged from having offspring to carry on their intelligence. I wish people would come back to reality and see what's happening in our world.

This is a great film! Last time I noticed that the opening shot is at people in a theme park waiting to get into Future Town that is supposed to give a sense of what the future could bring and at the END of the movie it ends on the Time Machine which is a theme park ride to give people a sense of what the past held. Like the present is about the future being something to look forward to but in the future the past is what people long for.

The greatest futurementary of all time.💕 I quote it on the daily basis pretty much as I deal with people who could be characters in the film. I could pretty much quote the whole movie. You didn't hear about it except due to word of mouth because the corporate sponsors that signed on didn't realize what they had gotten into until it was too late. So the movie studio put it out in as few theaters as legal obligated to. I learned about it from a co-worker back in the day.
