I generally agree with you but I’ve been a bit happier with downgrading my Venture X and then using the Ritz, WFAJ, and WFAC combo. Easy to get more than the value out of the cards esp because I don’t have to use portals.

Those Wells Fargo cards are really good and probably the most underrated in the game. You can earn so many points with those card.

I already have the Altitude Reserve and Fidelity Visa as a catch all. JP, do you see a use case where the Venture X would still be valuable? I’d like to have my catch all be a no FTF transferable currency card

I think the Venture X can work in anyone who likes to travel wallet, regardless of the other cards you have. It is that good!

I cancelled my VX after 2 years. The card was okay but I wasn’t using it. I would have kept it if I could use the travel credit outside of the portal. Like you said, there is no point giving the banks free money. On a different topic JP, did you qualify for globalist?

@@jpknowledge8852me globalists,😂😂😂 not even close. I only stayed 6 nights at Hyatt last year. I mostly stay at Marriott. I have quite a bit of Chase points since I couldn’t bring myself to transfer chase points to Marriott. I was in Paris and London last summer, paid cash for my Marriott stay in Paris and used points for my stay at the Hyatt in London. I think I’m going to switch to Hyatt this year, I mostly travel to major cities, shouldn’t have too much trouble finding a Hyatt.

Great video, my guy. Thanks for sharing this information. I'm team Amex all the way, but I would love to have this card, but Cap One will not give me this card what so ever lol. I have tried a couple of times and it's always a no go. I guess they didn't want me to cancel the only Cap One card I had which was the Wal-Mart card. Oh well, keep up the good work JP.

VX is the best overall premium travel card for me too! Also sucks that they equipment swapped you out of the 1st class suite, that product's on the top of my list to try someday.

I have the CSR, Plat, and VX. The VX is a good card, but IMO other setups are better. The hidden (or just not talked about benefit) that I like the most is actually using the C1 offers, since the offers give more miles instead of cashback. I like that it also has a bazillion stores ranging from 1X to 40X+ extra points. Insane. I bought a pair of shoes for my son for basketball and got an extra 7X points + the base 2X. With Chase and Amex it's mostly something stupid like "Get $5 back for spending $50" which is alright, it can't beat the extra points. (I know Amex sometimes have extra rewards too, and I prefer those as well)

@soapa4279 you're right. The offers aren't talked about much with C1. Mainly just Amex offers get talked about, which I think are pretty good, however I'll have to start comparing them to Capital One offers
