Thank you, Dr. Fraad💙I truly hope millions of people, who have been asleep in the American Dream, will be able to use this moment to hear and finally listen to wise and generous teachers like you and Professor Wolff. Doug Rushkoff of Team Human and Tristan Harris of Center for Humane Technology are also among those whose research should be widely spread and heeded.

Bernie specifically told us, many times over, change comes from the bottom up. When this crisis is over our movement, the people's movement needs to rise up to supplant the power of money, to create positive change in our world.

Choctaw Warrior I’m not sure what you’re trying to prove. Bernie’s vote proves April’s point even more. The movement should not centralize over individuals but over ideas and mobilization.

Abuse happens in school and at home for many children in regular times. I was one of those children. Not trying to downplay anything here. Just pointing out that it's a problem no matter what.
@billyoldman92094 жыл бұрын
Well, this whole way of life is pathological and pathogenic. By pretending as if a few changes in policy could solve anything we are pretty much becoming apologists for the system. Because the question is not whether or not people are abusing each other, but who creates and maintains these structures and chain reactions of violence in the first place.
@65minimom4 жыл бұрын
I know it did, awful! Not so sure about charter or religious schools but not as much physical abuse in public schools now, serious charge!I'm 75 taught in PA 1967, law was "loco parentis" teacher could hit kids because almost all parents hit them too. Unfortunately, many children were beaten. legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/In+loco... Honestly, my son, "Dennis the Menace" knew a wooden spoon was not for cooking - he & buddy hid in bushes using water guns to hit people with ketchup🙄😁

There's just as many controlling women as controlling men.
@kimberleymckay59494 жыл бұрын
No, no there is not. It is in the male DNA to be controlling not the female. If there were as many controlling women as men, I doubt seriously they could inflict the level of damage that a man can inflict on a woman. In the entirety of the Drs. talk that is all you heard to comment about? I'm afraid if I new you personally I would worry about you.
@brett22bt4 жыл бұрын
@@kimberleymckay5949 I watched the entire thing twice and I thought Dr. Fraad raised some excellent points, focusing on some areas that currently aren't discussed and I applaud her for her amazing insights. I just commented on the one point in the entire presentation that I disagreed with. Males and females may employ different forms of control, but do so with similar frequency. I recognize the elevated physical threat to a females saftey due to biological differences between the sexes and I deplore physical violence from anyone, but I believe the majority of both men and women are good people. It's unfair to attach negative terms to a particular gender inclusively when only referencing a minority. This type of language does not reflect reality, is counterproductive and highlights the need to address the issue of gender equality across the entire spectrum. Women must be held to their own high standards and forced to recognize their own sexist behavior if the modern feminist movement is to salvage any credibility. Feminism has morphed from the most important social movement in the 20th Century, into an extremist hardliner, hypocritical hate group and it's opposing forces are gathering on the Far right. I appreciate that you may worry about me, but I think it's slightly foolish to judge someone on just one sentence.
