@@SynthVoice that's a pretty reactionary thing to say to be honest, it would be much more useful to approach this issue in a more systemic way. like maybe it's a status quo conservative thing? maybe it's a more complicated thing where it would increase freedom of workers which might take up freedom of capitalists indirectly?

Bruh is just hilarious watching CEO's going ape-shit crazy over this kind of stuff not realizing that overall, happy workers dont tend to be such a pain in the ass, and are more productive. Like Im trying to see it for their perspective and being as a selfish asshole as possible, there's more money to be made with a happy worker that with one that goes in autopilot all day

Maybe look at it from the perspective of a man trying to increase productivity and maximize profits and minimize losses (instead of downright dehumanizing them) who might be skeptical that a 4 day work week might decrease productivity and lose the company money. The US already has one of the most productive labour forces in the world so maybe in their minds a 4 day work week could ruin productivity. (Plus not every business benefits from the 4 day work week... Restaurants and coding jobs come to mind instantly)
@leyrua

@@unbearablysmug2437 coding jobs, like programming? Those would benefit from a 4-day workweek. Oftentimes our projects experience a noticeable boost in productivity after a 3-day weekend due to a holiday.

@@webpombo7765 coding from what I've seen is a weird case altogether. Coding can be done from anywhere and some people can go a day without coding and still hammer out a ton of code, fix tons bugs, and the likes the next day. I'm not sure a 4 day work week would benefit most people in that industry. Maybe a more personalized work schedule would be the way to go, with the exception of important meetings and the need to get certain changes approved by upper management and the likes And again some people are more productive and happy with a 6 or 7 day work week, so to have companies be forced to do a institute a 4 or 3 day work week could cause many issues

As someone who has worked many 70 hour weeks. I can confirm that even if you do regulate things so that the current cost of living is viable to those who work 4 days a week, there will still be plenty of people who will work more than that. And the markets have a way of favoring those with more money. So if I work 6 days a week in a 4 day economy they will sell the houses, the land, the cars, the services to people like me. Why would they keep the prices lower for the 4 day people when they could just necessitate longer work weeks anyway.

@SynthVoice I'm sorry, I need the money. To live. Also you say that like I don't want the economy to be fixed. I just think that it would be a little better if there was a actual conversation about fixing the economy. All I did was voice my concerns about a 4 day work economy and was hoping to maybe have someone explain it better than a 2 frame comic or maybe point out a flaw in my reasoning. But instead I get called names. You might be making it harder for yourself to actually fix anything when you are so quick to pick a fight with people in the same boat.
