Awesome tips as usual! My advice would be to only create a route you are willing to use every day and don't expect your route to magically appear the next day or even during/shortly after this event (literally everyone in the world will be piling up their nominations after the restricted level drops). I've noticed that the only Greenway in my town has the highest number of spawns of any routes I've encountered since the release of routes. I made the mistake of establishing an hour long route there and plan to make 3 short routes there and hope they have a chance to shine after a few months.

In locations with lots of stops & gyms I worked on making a series of routes which bring me in a full cycle back to the first start ooint. This allows me to conserve excess walking back to my car 😂😂

This event is huge for trainers that wanna get mega energy for their legendary mega's. Latios/Latias/Groudon/Kyorgre/Rayquaza. Will all give 100 mega energy per candy walked. When it takes 6.7km while walking routes. You still get the same mega energy as walking 20km per candy earned.

“Root” is the proper pronunciation as it’s a French word “Rute”. “Rowt” came along more recently especially in the South.

Okay, so I researched it. Routes, sounding like roots is the traditional British and American way to pronounce it, but since a lot of people pronounce now pronounce it like rhyming with shout it is now considered correct as well.

Volcarona is one of my favorites, after hatching 300+ eggs, my GF got it while she was like level 5... She gave it to me and I used 400 rare candies to evolve it... I've been walking it to get candies to power it up, I got it over 2500 and then realized FUDGEEEE, I probably should've checked the PVP stats first... it sucks, awesome! haha. I'm trying to make it my best buddy now. I'll use the berry trick to get it a best buddy in 2 weeks! Oh, and on my like 400th egg I finally hatched Larvesta, I'll give it to my GF once we're lucky friends.

Feebas is also great for newer trainers as it takes 400 candy to evolve and evolving it is required for some of the earlier tasks.

My route I created said it's 36 mins but it onlt took my 10/15 mins to walk. I think if you reverse it adds the total time to walk forward and reversed

Can anyone answer these questions? If you get a cell going forward, can you also get one going reverse? Or is it only 1 cell per day? How many cells can you get each day? Is it 3? If you do a route and don't get a cell, can you run the same route again to get one?

Answers from my experience with routes. You can only get a zygarde cell (Spawn) once per route per day. Doesn't matter which direction you start. Ex: If you got a cell on route 101 that day you have to wait til midnight local time to do the route again for another cell. Note that when clicking on cells that spawn on the ground, they can yield a number from 1-4 cells per click. As far as I know you can get unlimited cells as long as you don't run outta routes to do or completed them all and got a cell from each. If you do a route and don't get a zygarde cell to spawn. You can redo the route until it does give one spawn. Although some routes seem to be hit or miss on cell spawns. It's not a guarantee as of this version of the game. Note that you can do routes over and over as much as you desire to increase the route badge from bronze>silver>gold. With or without getting a cell from the route. ***Out to play event may be giving us more cells than normal*** All the above information was souly based of routes first update to now

I do 10+ routes a day and have never gotten more than 3 cells. Unless it changed with the event but I didn't see anything about it changing. Haven't been able to play last two days due to weather so not sure there. And you can only get one per day per route, if you didn't get one and you complete the route you will not be able to get one for that route even if you rerun it.

@williamwolfe9112 that explains a lot.. I've been thinking if a cell didn't spawn I could rerun it for another chance (although it has never worked). I've also been doing the close app and reload trick near the end of the route but that has never worked either.

@@diablocell as far as I can tell, the closing the app thing only works if you actually missed a cell that spawned earlier in the route. Not entirely sure, but the one time I got it to work I had missed one because I saw it as I walked out of range.

I guess the event hasn’t started for a lot of people but I’m running into an issue. I don’t know if this is a general bug, but when my buddy is excited and I’m on a route I am not getting 2/3s of the half? I’m not sure if the discounts don’t stack or what? But it was quite annoying as I went out to grind today and got a decent amount less candy than I thought I would with this event.

It doesn't show the 2/3 bonus. Think of it more like, instead of getting 1km from walking a 1km route, you get 1.5km for your buddy distance.

It doesn't show on the buddy distance needed, it applies directly to distance traveled on a route. So instead of getting credit for 1km on a 1km route you get credit for 1.5km

Did you try following it all the way through anyway? Sometimes it won't show the blue line filling up but is still counting. That or the route is backwards from what it says. One of the ones near me flip flopped with the recent update and what it says is the start point is actually the endpoint now, so I used to need to reverse it for the way I usually come from but now I don't.

The route system and zygard cells are awful. You should be rewarded with a cell when you finish a route. They’re glitchy and it needs to be fixed.

They're much better already from a week or two ago. I have had 0 problems with them since the most recent updates. Have had a cell spawn on all but one eligible route during the event too. I don't think the cell should be automatic at end of route though, there are better systems like a certain amount of distance traveled while on a route (maybe somewhere between 2-5km) gets you a cell and there being no limit to daily cells.

Personally I like the idea of making it unlimited cells per day and making it distance based. Either from walking Zygarde as your buddy and getting 1 per candy collected, so 1 or 2 depending if you get XL candy or not and then make it doubled if you are currently following a route so 2 or 4. Or just something like every 2-5km of distance on routes.

The difference in between your Zygarde and a perfect IV Zygarde is only a couple of percentage points. IVs are way overrated.
