Spend 48 hours with Make-A-Wish kid Hunter Shrauger as the Washington Capitals granted his wish of meeting Alex Ovechkin and a whole lot more.

Ted Leonsis is a real class act! The Capitals never cease to amaze me. I've never had such a passion for a sports team before as I do for the Caps. Then they one up themselves and do this, and I'm speechless. This is beautiful and amazing, this video never gets old, keep it up guys!

Ted Leonsis truly is a good guy. He doesnt have to do it, but he does bc he recognises the impact that he, his players & his organisation have on other individuals & families. Allowing Hunter to touch and lift the Stanley Cup with his Dad, and then also wearing Ted's extremely expensive Caps ring is just cute

I love this. I have suffered from ulcerative colitis, and Crohn’s disease (worse version of colitis) for 8 years now, and watching hockey got me through some really dark times, 2 years with no hope, and times where I was sure I was going to die. In that stretch McDavid came here for a preseason game, he’s my favourite player, and I knew as I was watching it just added another year on my life, another year I would keep trying to get better, because I felt so alive that day. So happy for this young man, colitis and Crohn’s, for those who don’t know, are not physically life threatening, however they are life long, and the pain caused simply cannot be understood without experiencing it. Which is why I believe it IS life threatening mentally. To wake up, and spend every day in so much pain, you can barely walk, or get to a place like I did for two years where I didn’t leave my room. Which wasn’t living. This guy getting to see the games, up close, talk to all the players, in the dressing room, and talk to his favourite player idle, makes me really happy. This is a memory that is always gonna be there for his darkest days, to remind him how good life can be. He will need that and thus I wish they could do this more often for people Crohn’s and colitis, especially the young ones, I got it at 16 some are younger, and it’s an extreme test of will to live, and having this experience would be huge to anyone struggling to keep going. Thank you nhl, and the Washington capitals.

You can sense how grateful he is. Very respectful. Got some skills too huh. I'm a sabres fan but I've noticed something about them that my team is missing and that's comorodity. They care for each other. It's like a family. So good in the community too. Absolutely love that. They take that seriously. Absolutely love ovie. Dude is a beast on the ice and great off the ice. Hope he breaks gretzkys record as much as I'm a huge 99 fan.

Brendan Houde Tampa fan and someone who has lived and suffered through 3 years of ulcerative colitis, and another 5 with Crohn’s disease. People have no idea the mental battle to beat the physical pain. You have to be so strong, and have support, and very important you, NEED, days like this, because they remind you life can be good, in the days, weeks, months that life feels like hell. Hope to see this more often these kids really need this.

If you notice in hockey, its a whole family thing. Todd there to meet him, the whole team (remember Ovie is his favorite player), then the intimate convo with Wilson. Then Leonsis in the room. Enough said. I dont think its so much a Capital thing but a hockey thing. Im a Caps fan born in DC. I lve in Nebraska and will probably never make it back to DC. No reason to go. Hockey is a sport of humble men and sometimes kids. My Caps have set the standard of how teams appreciate the fans and LISTEN.

They usually only give it out to kids with critically life threatening conditions. Sometimes they give them for kids who’ve had to spend the majority of their lives in hospital beds like this dude. I hope you don’t apply to either of these, but it’s pretty unlikely that you apply unless the surgeries done were for life threatening issues that hospitalized you for a long periods of time.
