Either by having hard cash, or Pledging Liquid Funds (which are again cash equivalent) or LIQUID BEES (cash equivalent) and by pledging shares or equity mutual funds. If Shares or MF are pledged for margins , most brokers might ask you to maintain 50% cash for over nite contract positions.

My two cents: start with cash secured put and get rental income.With this you will buy the nifty/stock at cheaper rate than today's rate and till it reaches,you are making rental income . But keep the cash ready to buy.
