Nice construction and installation of the bascule bridge proven by train operation. Thanks for posting this.

Whatever happened to that module?

@@BNO-4333 Funny you asked that tonight. The module is gone, but the bridge was saved. Jimmy brought it up yesterday and we pulled out the bridge and checked out the operation. It worked fine but one thing led to another, and it might make an appearance in February on a new 2x5’ module. I hope to post a few videos of this project, including the design and fabrication of a new, more bullet-proof operating mechanism, and a reconstruction of the rear part of bridge with side slung counterweights, based loosely on the design of the Erie, NX bridge in Newark, NJ.

@@mussersail Awesome! Make sure Jimmy watches Boomer's technique for water several times.

@@BNO-4333 He’s not a fan of Boomer, so he probably won’t - says he’s too stoner preachy. We have used a similar technique for 30 years or so, using some of the glass-smooth, commercial urethane products from our cabinetmaking. I think he uses products more oriented toward artists. We’ve had really good results, and very simple.
