CAPITOL RACEWAY ABANDONED MARYLAND DRAGWAY RESURRECTED!!!

Terris Hicks and crew making history for maryland drag racing with the re opening of Land Of The Hurricane New Capitol Raceway !!! Track opened in 1962 and was once home to a huge grudge and small tire race scene the last few years . It has sat dormant for around two years with talks of being sold to build homes . It is back and racing is back on the hill !

Next time I got to try and get there earlier. By the time I rolled up they were full and cops were turning people away. Glad to see the track back up and running. Traffic was a nightmare though. Hopefully it was just an opening night thing. I'd hate to see the locals complaining and the track get shut down or something.

@@dragordietv Yeah, I only live something like 15-20 min away and I sat in traffic for over an hour. I been in the area for my whole life, I never remember traffic being that backed up on a Friday night. Like I said, hopefully it was just the opening night rush and/or they can find a better solution to the traffic issue. I'd hate to see them shut down for gridlocking half of Crofton every Friday night. Nice video BTW.

If you won't show times and speed, what am I spending my money on as a spectator? If a car owner doesn't want people to know his time let off gas early! This to me ,as a spectator, is as interesting as watch cars leave the toll booth on I95.

SUGGESTION: NHRA AND NASCAR. GOAL FOR THE FUTURE. FIND AND RESURRECT ABAMDON DRAG STRIPS AND RACEWYAS. THEN HOST EVENTS ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHTS FOR THE LOCAL RACING COMMUNITY TO RACE AND ENJOY THE TRACK.

When I went to Capitol down there and I went to the same track way when I went there it was like on Friday there was like barely even cool cars those like those I don’t know what type of cars they were but there was like not race cars at all😅
