A federal judge sentenced a New Jersey gym owner Wednesday to serve nearly 3.5 years in prison for punching a D.C. Police officer in the head during the Capitol riot.
Scott Fairlamb pleaded guilty in September to one count each of obstruction of an official proceeding and assaulting, resisting or impeding police. Footage captured outside the U.S. Capitol Building on January 6 shows Fairlamb inciting other rioters and accosting police - at one point yelling, “Are you an American!?” - before striking an officer who was attempting to reinforce others inside the building.
In other videos, Fairlamb can be seen climbing up scaffolding for the inaugural stage and yelling, "What do patriots do? We [expletive] disarm them and then we storm the [expletive] Capitol!"
Fairlamb faced a recommended sentencing range of 41-51 months in prison, and the Justice Department argued in a memo that he should serve the upper end of that. During his sentencing hearing before U.S. District Judge Royce C. Lamberth on Wednesday, prosecutors said Fairlamb, a boxing trainer and one-time MMA fighter, knew the sort of injury he could cause when he punched the officer. They also said previous assault charges he’s faced show the January 6 assault wasn’t an isolated incident, calling it “one of a long line of assaults.”

The actual vote count never mattered to the GOP. I think their plan since before Drumpf even decided to run for office in 2016 was for their presidency to end in a treasonous dictatorship, one way or another (via pandemic, nuclear war, election fraud, etc), and I've been screaming it in social media since then. Republicans are still fighting / lusting for a white supremacist, fascist, Christian dictatorship / civil war, as they have been since the rise of Obama and the subsequent rise of Republican fear, bigotry (fear) and greed (fear). They'll go full Nazi if we let them. We’re closer to American Civil War II than most people believe and just like before our own friends and family members would take up arms against us for not getting on board with their extreme greed and bigotries just like the Confederates in 1865 they literally idolize or like the Nazis in 1938. It's not a race war, it's a (worldwide, unified) war against racists (and inequality in general)! #theyvotedforaBigot #BuildBridgesNotWalls #DeportMeToo #BanMeToo #BLM #RepublicansAreNazis #InsideJob

And when blm/antifa FILTH assault or murder police, set fire to precincts and police cars, loot small businesses, threaten, assault and kill citizens, vandalize and destroy other people"s property for months on end in multiple American cities, no doubt you defend that GARBAGE. . This guy who was just sentenced is an idiot who deserves some jail time for assaulting a police officer. Why isn't this administration also going after the blm/antifa SCUM who have done much worse? Why was that insufferable hack Maxine Waters not censured and removed from office for threatening more riots by the same blm/antifa FILTH if a jury didn"t decide a court case to HER satisfaction, or for at other times inciting violence in public spaces against her political enemies? Why were Kamala Harris and Nancy Pelosii not censured for going on record endorsing blm/antifa violence? The democraps' hysteria over the Jan 6 incident is a JOKE when they, with impunity, invite and endorse full blown riots and open intimidation of citizens as it suits their political agenda.

Also since it is revealed his family is police and secret service, he will not get treated kindly for sure. I have been inside of prisons, especially a federal prison. @@level2fast1 That was actually quite funny. You do realize there were nearly 10,000 demonstrations with some demonstrations having over 50,000 protestors like in Philly? So to actually state 120 like it's actually something is embarrassing. Just look at Portland OR, where the police were attacked every single night for 118 days. They were assaulted with rocks, frozen bottle, even attempt to set them on fire, I don't recall the US media making a big deal out of that though. The chaos on January 6 was about 5 hours long from what I understand. To date they have arrested and charged around 700 people from that group. I would say that the arrest ratio is way out of balance here. The people on Jan 6 deserved to be arrested for sure, but there should have been many more arrests with stronger charges against the BLM/Antifa riots from 2020. I think because so many protestors were not held accountable it has now created a new breed of criminal in the US. Look at the uptick in your crimes across the country. When you don't stop the criminals they get empowered.

Just how the hell does your father's job go into your accountability for violent criminal acts??? What if Fairlamb's dad was a lazy slouch who didn't do much of anything useful? Would Fairlamb then be subject to _more_ prison time?? What exactly is the equation here??? If your father worked a particular job, then you are _not_ as accountable for your violent crimes??? What a violent criminal's father did/does for a living should be *IRRELEVANT.* Just as irrelevant as the victim's father's job. Nobody's father's job has anything to do with criminal culpability and sentencing. And the judge should've explicitly rejected that request for leniency for that reason.

I agree. Look up the case of Daniel Baker, an antifa activist who caught a 44 month federal sentence for social media posts. He called for the left to arm themselves and go defend their state capitols from these right wingers who at that time were threatening to do a 1/6 at states with democrat governors.
