This is a fantastic video! I have seen lots of capote patterns and instructions, before but they didn't explain the way that blanket stitching is used, like you did. The finished article is just wonderful!

You made a gorgeous coat! Your teaching skills will make it easier for my 1st time trying to create my own. I am Native American of the Navajo Nation. Raised in the Pacific northwest, I currently live in Colorado. I've always wanted to own my own Capote only to lounge in my home during the winters. I will practice first with other cheaper wool blankets, but itll come to making one like you did with quality wool to work with. Thank you for a great tutorial video.

Outstanding. The Bush craft community would go crazy for this. It seems relatively simple yet very functional. Your tutorial was great. My guess is you make it look easier than it is and your delivery and style made it look that way. Makes me want to try it.

Thank you for the great video! I have an old Hudson's Bay point blanket that was my grandmothers that was born in 1869. My father who was born in ND told me these were prized by people in that cold country for their warmth even if they got wet. I have long thought about making a jacket or capote out of it, but I wonder if I would be dishonoring it by cutting it up.

Thank you for making this video. I am planning on making a capote and it had some very important info I hadn't found, particularly how to attach the hood. I also didn't know the tails on the hood were to tie it tight around the neck. Makes sense now, I thought they were for decoration.

Hi, what kind of yarn did you use. I got some hemp yarn thinking it would stronger but it was really thin.
@Delmarvellous2 жыл бұрын
100% wool yarn isn’t as sturdy as wool blend, therefore maybe it’s better to use a blend?
