Slick rail operation, times money and they don’t hang about. Good video.

The switchers that started the importing of class 59's and 66's.

@@rearspeaker6364 indeed, quite ironic to see the last true British built diesel in the 60, both switchers and the successor in 59001 during the afternoon

I got only a few minutes in to the first clip of the SW1001. Had a bit of a laugh because it occurred to me that these are probably the only locos in that country to have bells, nonetheless actually using it.
@brunelheritage8 сағат бұрын
@@trainlover0315 thank you, interestingly there are a few examples of 59s and 66s carrying bells, 59001 being one which you can just about make out during the video, but yes first time I have heard one being used!

Hi there. When i worked locally to here in the 1980s yeoman were using a similar loco to yeoman 2 for shunting with a gronk . Western yeoman was a BR western loco also there. caroline.

English shunter vs American shunter is like the hare & the tortoise ! Little 08 just does it's work, no fuss, you barely know it's working hard.

They had them in Port Talbot Steelworks for decades, as long as they do the work, no one really cares how much noise they make.

Interesting viewing thank you. Seems like the EMD switcher is seriously out of gauge for a British running line, mainly cab height. But of course that doesn't matter on a private rail yard. Looks like they make the same mods as British modellers make when they want an American switcher. Namely pull off the US coupling, whack a basic coupling hook into the hole, stick on two sets of buffers, bung on a name or number plate and you're pretty much good to go! By the way is that a leftover bell on the the top of the hood?

that sw1001 is actually a low cab.....!

That 1st American shunter must have very poorly profiled wheel treads ! It is destroying that track !
