When u were talking about ur sheeting overhanging ur foundation vs sitting flush on ur foundation u said it makes ur building 1” bigger. If ur sheeting sat on ur foundation wouldn’t it make it 1” smaller or am i missing something. And I’m not one of these people on here trying to be a arm chair carpenter I’m trying to understand what ur talking about cause this isn’t something I do for a living. ✌️

​@hammertime7349 I believe he said he comes in with the wall 1/2 in on each side so sheeting is flush on the outside edge of the concrete. If I remember right he's adding an inch to the width of the concrete to allow for it. Nice detail for your siding to drop down just a hair over the concrete. Well that's the way I remember it. Could be wrong. 😎✌️

A sand layer between the slab and the vapor barrier is counterproductive; best practice is to place the concrete directly against the vapor barrier. All the sand will do is absorb some of the excess water from the concrete and act as a reservoir, slowly releasing the moisture over time. So the slab will end up emitting significant moisture for much longer than if you omitted the sand--it can be on the order of years rather than months.

Just wondering if you have ever entertained the use of Masterseal 500 (formerly BASF’s tegraproof) is an excellent product to add into the concrete to insure no moisture is transferred through concrete. It grows indefinitely in the presence of water so it is never not working. It will grow around rebar too preventing rust. It still allows concrete to breathe but no water vapor can transmit through. It does add a cost $ but it can also repair some cracking in concrete that can prevent termites from using the cracks as a pathway to the structure. Masterseal 500 is used highly in the commercial construction industry but it is being used more and more often in the home build sector
