Teatro dei Sensi - Cavalli (M. Flores, G. Bridelli, Cappella Mediterranea)

Cavalli (1602-1676) a longtemps été oublié. Il fut pourtant le compositeur d'opéra le plus célèbre de son temps.
L'orchestre La Cappella Mediterranea, accompagné de deux solistes, consacre à Francesco Cavalli un concert d'airs inédits, extraits de ses vingt-sept opéras. Ce concert est dirigé par le spécialiste argentin de musique baroque, Leonardo García Alarcón.

Francesco Cavalli est un compositeur vénitien de musique baroque. Son œuvre parait dans le contexte foisonnant du début de l'opéra public dans les théâtres de Venise et influencera l'Europe entière. Elle annonce également l’avènement de compositeurs comme Lully (1632-1687), d'origine italienne, créateur de l’opéra français à la Cour de Louis XIV. Cavalli chante et se forme auprès de Claudio Monteverdi et devient rapidement le compositeur d’opéra le plus prolifique et populaire de son temps. Depuis plusieurs décennies, les recherches s’accélèrent autour de la vie de ce compositeur oublié de l’histoire.
L’ensemble instrumental et vocal Cappella Mediterranea a été créé en 2005 par Leonardo Garcia Alarcón, spécialiste argentin de musique baroque. L'équipe artistique cherche, en s'appuyant sur les recherches musicologiques, à se rapprocher des intentions d'origine des compositeurs. Les musiciens se produisent dans de nombreux festivals, dont le Festival de musique baroque d’Ambronay. Ils chantent ici à Venise, au Venetian centre for baroque music, et relèvent le défi de jouer des partitions inédites.

@@tahiragibson6407 I was only commenting on past performance practice, where women singing arias or duets (or more) that are from a trouser role have usually worn pants to distinguish themselves as the male character. Whether it is their choice, a nod to tradition, or direction, I've always felt it unnecessary. Wear what you want and don't worry about the clothing. You can sing a love to song to a woman wearing a dress (if that's your choice) without it causing a stir. It just seems to be such an issue for some singers, apparently. I thought it was just a breath of fresh air to see both of these amazing singers in gowns. I apologize if I didn't represent myself or my position accurately. And I'm American, which means that, sadly, many of our practices regarding sex, gender, sexuality, and dress can be rather conservative, particularly on our opera stages, though that is changing more rapidly now than it was 10 or 20 years ago. (Just out of curiosity, where did you think I am from?) Thanks.

Pour moi c'est GENIAL. J'ai écouté hier sur MEZZO , une retransmission du Concert du Festival d' AMBRONAY. C'etait parfait..., et d'une émotion intense...... Voir et entendre Mariana FLORES , bien sûr! Mais aussi sentir cette complicité entre ces Musiciens de talent. Ils sont là pour se faire entendre , bien sûr , MAIS , avant tout ils sont dans la Musique , ils vivent dans ces Mélodies du XVII éme siécle, et leur communion est perceptible . La voix , et le talent de Mariana meriterait une page de compliments...... Merci à elle de tant nous donner ! PAULINE
