Im in the middle of building mine. Just saw this and got the furry system for it. Also got smaller 1/10 portal axles to widen it out a little, about 15 mm per side, higher servo and some 1.9 beadlocks and tires, making custom links to make the w.b. a little longer as well. I cant wait to see how it comes out🤘

this is awesome, i cant wait to get my hands on one and do this mod its exactly what ive been waiting for. Im happy they made it a bigger sise vs scx24 sised, it means a comeback to 1.9 mini sised performance crawlers like the losi mini crawler and the ecx temper

If interested in one of these don’t be dissuaded - they’re great. It’s a fun size and great value. People that have been into RC crawlers for years are likely a bit tired of the design style. But don’t let that affect your opinion if new. There is a reason this style continues to be produced. :)

Regardless of the money I have spent on other scales UTB 18 (ultimate trail buggy 18 ) is a good rig. Trails better than 24 scale and is more fun indoors than 10 scale .

First of, definitely agree, the stock system isn't great. Particularly at it's price point. But a cheaper option is the hobbywing 1080 with a dumborc receiver and transmitter combo. It is about 85 bucks on Amazon and completely transforms the buggy. It's not as good as the furitek, but it's very smooth, very quiet, and about 1/3 to half of the price depending on whether or not you need a new radio and receiver. Just another option for those of us with a bit tighter budget

I'm not interested in this truck, I would have loved to see this truck as an actual 1/18 scale. The Furitek gear seems really great and the price seems reasonable for the quality.. Loving the quality content.

I’m with you on this truck. Having a 1/10 Capra I just don’t see using one just barely smaller. Would be a good start for someone who isn’t sure about getting into crawling. 1/10 is more expensive and 1/24 isn’t very capable, out of the box at least. That Fox livery is sharp looking though.

That’s my exact complaint with this truck. If it had been true 1/18 I’d be loving it! I think axial really missed the mark with the size of it.

Sweet man. I haven’t touched my trx4m in a few weeks aswell since I got it on the first day with no low crawl gears. Still gotta wait a couple weeks to even get them but not having the ability to rock crawl with it really bums me out. I still love the look of it though

Yeah the stock gearing is lacking a bit when it comes to crawling. Hopefully you’ll get the crawl gears soon!

Hope they sell this motor separately at some point. I briefly used the original 1400kv Komodo, with a hack for a 3.17 mm pinion, but switched to a V2 Holmes 380 revolver and a Lizard 10 ESC. Love Furitek stuff. Works great, but that Revolver is soooooo loud.

I can’t get mine to run right unfortunately, I got the same set up but the esc seems to be glitchy i dunno why had to run it with castle esc instead 🤷🏻

The stock system and tires are a joke but ahhh rtr so I'm ok but the drag brake is not inexistence and the slow crawl is jumpy ...I guess a 1080esc would help alot I don't have 120 for every 24 18 scale truck I'm trying to upgrade 😉 I'm a brushed guy in crawler trucks anyway..I feel like they don't make a cheap brushed option for the scx24 so u have to spend more than the truck costs for electronics I get it its business but 25 brushless motor but the esc is 100 come on man lol

So I'm going to do this... I have a gt5 tx but do all flysky rx work with every tx ? I want the lights to work etc but I'm new to this and don't want to waste any money.... can you help me out with some advice ?

Why do you need a new receiver to install it?

The esc is an all in one esc/receiver combo in the stock truck. You may be able to use the stock receiver and bypass the esc idk? I didn’t even look honestly. I wanted to get rid of the spektrum stuff and use my flysky since all of my RCs on Flysky transmitters.

I had mentioned in the original upload that the mounting for this motor didn’t work well. I then got word from Furitek that mine was a prototype and the production units would come with a better mount so I edited that part out since it hadn’t been up but a few mins.

Ouch! Definitely not the enthusiasm Cape Crawlers had for his. I’ve never bought an Rc thinking I didn’t want to invest any more money in it. I simply won’t buy it. The ESC is a disappointment to some degree. I wonder if a HW1080 would be a good half step up in performance?

It's funny as you are talking about how poorly the system works, in the video the rig is working so well, crawling the course with ease and composure.

Watch closely how it starts/stops constantly and lunges over things at times. You can be half way smooth with the stock setup but you aren’t gonna get a constant slow/smooth crawl. Then watch the Furitek system just continue a nice slow crawl over the course. It don’t show a ton here but when in those tight spots and lots of pressure on a tire that’s when you need to be able to get that nice slow creep without lunging off the edge of a rock.

Super unhappy with the Furitek system in my UTB18, the transition between the low-speed FOC and normal speed is harsh and jerky. The thing stalls out under load any time the tire gets bound up. Updated firmware and have spent probably 2 hours messing with settings and it still makes no difference. Also, don't believe the perfect 5 star rating they have, they sent an email asking for a review, I left a 3 star review and it says it is pending, they won't publish it, submitted it a few times now. The funny thing is that I have seen a 5 star review show up after I submitted my 3 star.

Kinda hard to come by. I got mine at the hobby shop closest to me. I bought a couple sets the day they released because I figured the stuff would be hard to get.

Haha! It happens. Shoot a few videos and you’ll find all of your sort of nervous ticks or find that you repeat yourself too much. Sometimes you just leave it without editing it out because it’s too much work to reshoot etc. People think it’s all easy. Turn the camera on and shoot a vid but it’s a lot to deal with. Then EVERYONE wants to point out your flaws. Gotta love the negative comments & hopefully they’ll make you better or you can’t survive in it long that’s for sure 🤘
