Top job as always mate, that olive didn't want to come off, I don't personally charge any more for same day call outs unless it's out of hours, I can see why businesses do charge a premium though

The olive remover it’s good lot of people mentioning to get it , but you need to know how to use it properly , one big mistake can be done on it it’s a olive puller that means it pulls the whole section of the pipe unless it’s soldered that would stay solid , but you wouldn’t able to tell if underneath a floor is a push fit connection or compression fittings, that could pull the pipe work out and create, he’ll lot of a mess , it’s only good , if you can see entire pipe work layout. 😅 I always give you good 👍 tips my lad 😂

Yeah we're stacked with work for months ahead so when we get a call out it's always gonna be robbing time from another job and pushing the finish date out which means I might have to pay overtime to pull it back on track. So the job you're calling out to has to pay that back and generate the profit it would have done as a stand alone job.

I think £150 for an emergency call out plus parts is more than reasonable. Obviously the VAT is always a bummer as it does make it get pricey. Unless they pull there wallet out😉

Hi what is the normal hourly rate for domestic plumbing jobs I agree an on the day call out needs to cover for travelling and loss of earnings from other jobs just interested to know as it seems to vary quite a lot between sole traders and companys

I always put a talon clip lock clip around the bottom temp while working on bits of pipe like that mate

Pain when they try and fix it first cos that float valve could’ve been replaced without taking the cistern off. I had one where I ended up having to cut through the rusty wing nuts just cos the customer had tried to remove the cistern, when they didn’t even need to anyway 🫠
