This car has been off the road since 2001, it seems about time it was given a new lease of life

From factory, the fuel pump should only run on engine cranking and running. Safety device.

The idea of people knowingly leaving cars outside that seem perfectly good and worth large amounts of money seems unbelievable. It may be an aspect of dementia that no one has really investigated properly.

This one was taken off the road in 2001 and has been through at least 2 changes of owner since, it was dry stored for most of this time, it had a couple of months outside immediately before I got it due to the storage being vandalised, then a month outside when I got it before I had indoor space available. I think it would have been a lot worse if it had been outside throughout

This is great and I can't wait to see future videos, but please get a wireless microphone to clip onto yourself so we can hear you talking! (some parts when you are far from camera, can hardly hear you). Would make a world of difference to your videos :)

Thanks, you’re absolutely right, I’m new to this and still learning. It’s something I’m going to get asap, hopefully in time for the next video 👍

Good luck with the K-Jet system, willing to bet that gives you some headaches after being off road so long
@tryingstuffout18 ай бұрын
Thanks! I have no doubt, there will be a lot of headaches along the way but I’d rather go through everything than buy one for 3 or 4 times the price and still not know what’s been sorted properly or otherwise.

@@tryingstuffout1 yeah totally agree, if you do need any K-Jet bits drop me a message, I've got a stash of metering heads, WURs, air valves etc
@tryingstuffout18 ай бұрын
Awesome, thanks, I may well be in touch 👍
@Roverturbo8 ай бұрын
When it was trying to start when cutting out, that would be the cold start valve only. You will prob find the metering head piston is stuck or sticky. Try taking off the air pipes and manually lifting the arm up and down to clear it.

Im glad I watched, couldn't find a place to mount my high pressure pump lower than the tank and I saw how this one was mounted. Had 2 73 Capri's in the 80s. Wish I had one now that I know how to build engines / horsepower
