I am glad that I re-watched this video. I have an old Moggy Traveller that will need two new tyres, it can be driven to my local National tyres, but two problems , it has no rear side windows in it, nor any back doors and I do not fancy them "jacking " it up. Now it seems like I will be buying the tyres and looking for them to be fitted. When I was rebuilding the Capri's, I took one of my nephews out in one, making loud tyres noises, he said what will you do if a tyre blows, I said "put another tyre on," he said what if the axle breaks? "I'll replace the axle ", he said what if the gearbox breaks, "Oh i will just fit another gearbox" I let him take all the seats etc out of a damaged car and put it all in my old one ! .... I think he enjoyed it , as a few years later he started working at a Ford dealership .

You've done a great job on this car. I loved every minute of the video. Ref: Halfords Windscreen Wipers: The first time I needed to change them on my first car I went to Halfords and got in the queue to ask for some assistance in fitting them. As I got closer to the desk I heard a collective groan of disappointment from my entire male genetic line. "Don't do it my son, read the manual". Needless-to-say, but I did just that and 5mins later had them fitted. I've never felt so manly. I got nods of approval from all the men in the car park too! Keep up the great work on the channel!
@misterthegeoff97678 ай бұрын
I worked at halfords when I was a spotty teenager, back before they offered a paid fitting service but we used to fit bulbs, wipers and anything up to a stereo if the customer asked. I never had an ounce of training so all these grown adults were getting an untrained kid who was too young to have a driving licence to work on their car. I lost count of how many times I did a job on a customer's car just by reading the instructions on the packaging and borrowing tools off the display. If you ever bought a 10mm or 13mm spanner from Halfrauds while I was working there it was guaranteed to have been used to fit at least one car battery before going out the door.

Really appreciate what you do getting these classic cars back on the road again.👍 That engine takes me back to the mid 90s when i bought my first car a 1987 Ford Sierra mark 1 in red though i had the 1.8 pinto, decent enough car and went well but the engine was really troublesome so i don't share the same enthusiasm as you regarding these lol mine had an issue where it would every so often i would shut it down and the engine would run on for abit afterrun and be an absolute shit to start again lol, also it would often die coming up to junctions i never did find the problem but then again i was only 17 and knew sod all about cars in those days but i did learn a lot with this car, lol that crane attached underneath haha man that takes me back to when me and my dad replaced those bushes on the stabiliser bar on my sierra as it looks the same wow what a pig of a job to do, my dad had that exact crane and we had to do something similar to get that torsion bar back in lol, mine also had tons of rust, my dad spent a good day welding that heep up, those days i dont miss, but i do love the Capri its a great i nearly bought one 10 years ago a 2l supped up model and immaculate but my 1991 Toyota mr2 turbo won me over, funnily enough we have a white 1.6 laser knocking our way its full of rust which is a shame the guy wants to do it up but money being the issue the inside is spot on though.

What a great series of videos, love the car! As for the tyres, I booked a tyre fitting through Black circles online and gave the reg of my car (even though the car was in a thousand pieces at the time) and then turned up with loose wheels. Like you, I thought it would make their job easier (my wheels didn't even have tyres on them) but they took some convincing to do the job. They explained to me that a lot of scammers turn up to get new tyres fitted and then go back with some worn tyres fitted, complain and demand refunds. To cover themselves, once the new tyres are fitted, they now take photos of the new tyres on the car and a photo of the number plate. I my case, they took a photo of me stood beside the freshly fitted tyres. Hopefully this explains the reason :)
