TEKTON is 3 of my top 5 favorite ratchets and I have a lot of ratchets

Both are nice ratchets.

It really is hard to choose a winner between these two.

Boy this is such a close matchup here. Ease of warranty in my opion is the best here. But i might be a bit partial to tekton, i have many full sets and extremely satisfied!

Tekton is pretty great and once you find something you like it is really hard to think about using something else.

Own a bunch of tekton. I’d have to go tekton for just the warranty alone until capri can show that they’ll be around for a while. I’m interested in the capri ratcheting wrenches though

Yep the Tekton warranty is very good. Thank you

Snip off one spring loop on the Capri and spin it with a drill for a minute or so each way and then recheck the back drag. I did this on my ICON ratchets and it makes a difference. If the rubber seal is making contact with the gear anvil and the metal body can cause back drag to be more than ratchets that don’t have seals that make contact with the anvil. Loosening up a touch on the screws can help decrease back drag in this case.

@@dbusby77 I was thinking about cutting one coil off the spring. It was a tight little thing.
@dbusby772 ай бұрын
@ yeah the end cutters will spread the coils apart or you can hold onto it really tight close to the end and barely put it on your grinding wheel, but be careful not to grind too much off. The grinder is easy to do as well.

Thanks for the comparison, James! How about a Tekton vs Capris Hammer (was thinking to myself, "quick. what else do they both make?") 😂 Take care

Lol, I will look at some other tools and see what I can come up with

Both brands USA hammers are made by the same company called trusty cook. Great USA hammer for the cost. Tekton is a little cheaper if I remember right

I wish Capri and Tekton were a thing when i started my career. Such great options at a way better price than most brands
@Jethro2022Ай бұрын
That would have been awesome, we did have craftsman but I don't know about you but for me late 90's were when I felt craftsman slipping.
@RyldUpLtdАй бұрын
@Jethro2022 i started around 2015. So Amazon wasn't really a thing yet, craftsman and all the other hardware store brands were at a all time quality low. And I'm Canadian so a lot less options up here. Either had to got with super cheap crop or break the bank

Why is back drag so critical.
@Jethro202221 күн бұрын
If you are in a tight spot, low backdrag will help in removing and installing fasteners better. You will have less wasted motion from the fastener being loose and your ratchet doesn't click but moves with the nut. The lighter the back drag, the looser the nut can be and the ratchet still ratchet.
