I love this concert, its speed, the vibrato, the expressions, EVERYTHING. It really is that 11 years have passed since this video was uploaded, but I feel the emotion as if I were in that place, I am 12 and I would say to play the cello that way 😌

For 15 year olds, they are absolutely brilliant! As far as theatrical bowing...she is very immersed in her playing! I honestly find it a relief to see musicians that let go of the stiff body language that we impose on ourselves as a matter of appearance.

The summer after I graduated from USC, I was listening to the Vivaldi here except with Bobby McFerrin singing one of the cello parts, and I was listening to Itzak Perlman playing Bach concertos. I was so anxious I must have smoked 3 packs a day in Michigan. But the musical experience was so extremely beautiful that it kept me afloat. The music elevated me at times so that the nature appeared incredibly vivid, and the lighting changed to make it appear more beautiful such that I noticed it as something very different that usual. And I was aware that God had some plan for my life, a good plan, even-though I was clearly still suffering a lot, and happiness was years away...I have always found that music, very basically is connected to God, therefore we can experience God through good music. And my mind is flooded with ecstasy when I hear really good music, and I am reminded that God is love, not some being who is unfair and alien, far away. God made humans like himself so that he is very familiar to us. God is kind and "normal." But God hates cruelty, I believe there is so much he will forgive of a person who acts in love and kindness. I talk about God because I like to, I don't really need another reason.
