My work was excepted into museums, high end galleries. My talents led me to different places. Started a clothing line, made it to New York and LA. Then my own home decor and furniture line… thought I could do anything. Of course I couldn’t do all of it. Had to sacrifice my art. After 35 years of working my behind off. I lost it all. Even my family. Desided it was better to be dead then start all over. Drank myself to the point. That someone had to take me to the hospital. Knowing someone wanted me around. Gave me the push I needed. Eventually that person needed me. She was told she had stage 4 cancer. We stuck it out together. Cap & Leo two people with different ways of doing things. Push and pull but there for each other. We are at a better place but down to our last few dollars. Still fighting forward but on the edge of being homeless. I think we will make it. Last laugh? Bring it on! Any day now would be great, though most of the time lately I've been honing my skills instead of worrying. The ugly cards are the scenery of how I grew up, especially as a teen being the son of the ex husband in a very small family and house. Firing the ice queen from my interior kingdom is about as easy as the fight in the Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe that I just watched in 1979 cartoon form for the first time. Tapping two sticks on my Vic Firth practice pad along with the ancient text from 1935 with LR patterns to guide my Stick Control skills, also good to tap feet, and do all the patterns between feet and hands which works out to 4 pairs of LR possibilities is the little hammer that's crumbling the ice queen's castle with daily sessions of at least 20 minutes to activate the relaxation response. It functions as something of a shaman's drum that also requires intense focus to be able to hold particular patterns and not just jam. That's the key to developing high level skill, which fact I've always intuitively known, but drumming rudiments are the thing that's clearing up resistances and not only making my physical dexterity and coordination better on drum kit, but I walk and talk and be my human self much better for the improvements in Qi flow with muscles that have found their relax state after chronically tensing against the ice queen.

The only thing I could think of is my Buddha Dharma practice. It's my life to a large extent but it's just my passion, as you stated.
