I personally think that Europe Advanced with blizzards is the best map in the game for any fixed or caps match. The bonuses are generous, but with enough of them so that taking one or two and going good neighbour with your opponent who is doing the same is much more likely. You see fewer people breaking and more working towards securing their own advantages, then being strategic about their gameplay. Fantastic map imo.

Love it when you say, What is a mechanical keyboard, I have no idea. Basically a mechanical keyboard provides more haptics/feedback in the form of both sound and physical response whenever you push a key. If you are using a mechanical keyboard when you type it will sound like klicky klack. No worries on not being super tech savvy. Everyone has different skills that they are good in and skills that they are bad in. Love your risk content, please keep it coming.

I say this lightly, since you don't care, but mechanical keyboards aren't something that will "die" or be "drastically" approved upon in 6 months, it's actually older technology that's been brought back to a premium. I honestly think you would love them with your play style of risk (fast movements) and their tactile feel and noise would just be a further indicator that your button press was successful. And they are so clicky and good feeling.

They are terrible for typing though so if you use the computer for that, then mechanical, high travel is not what to go with.

I am brand new at Risk and have a question on this game, at 8:36 mark, white player can theoretically have the upper left and then push on France and then Spain, then he only has one point big point to defend from, and can slowly push, is that not the correct way to think about this game? If he keeps an away position as well?

@pete question: (don't play or like caps, but trying to learn) game one first turn (0:52) why did you choose the middle cap? you see the insane blizzard and recognize the world/board split. You see green take the top (so I get not capping next to green, and you see white not capping on London. With some troop in Ireland I choose the Normandy cap. Now with white taking the wierd/wrong cap. That choice (Normandy) is game lossing (maybe). But you did not know that at turn one. And it illogical for white to have/choose that cap over London) So my question is: did you not see the Normandy cap, or know something I don't, or just wanted to be close to Bleu/bot for double cap?

I found it on these settings the safest place is to be out of everyone else's way. If you're inside a bonus a stronger player is trying to take then they roll your cap. If you're away from the action often you get kills fed to you and you can win or come second place in the clutch.

hey pete, quick question. im new to the game so excuse my noobness, but at 54:30 why didnt you take spain, as in my eyes that would have made it harder for orange to take you out that pocket right? as there was some troops in the way of oranges cap.

A 9 defends pretty well. I don't think it would have made any difference except for the fact that orange would have needed to break that bonus so it would have encouraged him to hit me more.

Can someone explain to me the start of the game? How did white only get 6 troops turn one but never motion to take england, but then get the +10 the next turn. Very confused on how in the world he started with england or something,

Unlike what Pete seemed to think, White did not have a cap within England. White likely had a cap at the very bottom of Spain. White took Spain on turn one.

The only way to get to the top of the ladder is by playing caps. This is due to a flaw in the design of the ranking system which punishes losses after a certain point without rewarding commensurate gains. The solution is to play the safest possible settings with the highest winrates. It turns out that that's capitals.

@@unclewheelchair Caps is bad for tournaments because skilled players and can will stalemate it leading to the outcome being determined by the most patience, largest bladder and best internet connection. Caps is currently good to reach the top ranks so if I want to do that I have to play caps. If the only way to reach the top ranks is caps and/or World Domination Risk isn't viable to reach the top of a Risk ranking system I would argue there is a flaw in that system.

Hit the start button, then start typing winzip and the icon should show up, then to the right or bottom should give you an option to uninstall. if not, right click the icon for winzip and select uninstall. TL;DR winzip bad, not needed.
