I liked this game. Pete generally shows his thoughts because he doesnt have vc. White knew it was risky Because Pete is always going to fire back, the whole lobby new. Pete let the whole lobby know he was willing to throw it away and i think that kept him from really being the fish early game (back to back big trades helps). Honestly big moves by keeping the prize in sight and playing for the win. Risk is definitely a strategy and negotiation game and i believe pete negotiated perfectly there. Any less aggression and he was done for. Well played.

Definitely wasn't expecting that energy to start the vid off, but we all get annoyed when people try to screw us. White could have moved up toward Allston while the area had no bonus holders or big numbers yet to avoid making an enemy in the first 4 minutes. It's just a game though and none of you said anything over the top, everyone moved on so gg

I love this map, it's so weird. Rough start for sure. About halfway through watching and was wondering why is no one attempting to take the islands? I get that there ended up being a lot of troops mixed in over there, but they're pretty easy to hold once you take them.

Such great settings! Fixed caps gets so much flak for being “boring”, but when I’m in a game like this one, you can feel the tension, and every turn that tension builds, until it finally snaps and the board explodes, and the following chaos can often last longer (assuming no cap run) than when a prog board pops. That excitement, coupled with the enhanced psychological aspect of fixed games, is exactly why I love fixed over prog ❤️🔥😎

Reading through the comments: I've been watching Pete a long time now and I've seen how he's grown while he's played this game. The fact he backed off even with the plus 7 bonus is a clear indicator of this, if this was say a year, a year and a half ago, Pete would have beaten the white player until they both died. But he didn't he took the plus 7 took the moment to work through what emotion he was feeling and continued to play the game. What I feel a lot of people are missing here is the history of how Pete plays as well, and he says this time and time and time again in his videos where people get smacked hard and then just bot out, if someone hits you like that, you have to hit them back to send the message you aren't just going to take it. That's what he did. Then he explained exactly how he plays in the VC after the fact and told white that if he wanted to make him lose he'd also make white lose. Is it aggressive? Sure. Is it him bullying someone or being a sore loser or any of that, absolutely not, its the way he plays. He doesn't hide that and it's there in a good number of his videos both here and on the other channel.

I dont think anybody realizes that you tried to negotiate with white by offering to move out and he rolled through your troops and just took your bonus anyways. I think that justifies your negative reaction towards his play especially in a scenario where you can talk and discuss options. Yet you still found a better alternative to play for a win. To me this shows great ressilence and calmness to an unfavorable play.

I think most of you guys who were made uncomfortable by Pete reacting to the early game are misreading exactly how "angry" he was? After attempting to suggest alternate ways for white to proceed he took the bonus even though Pete was clear with what would happen if he did? This isn't friends sitting around a table, its competition. He was simply sternly commenting on the fact that that is what he will do if such a play happens every time. I don't personally think that Pete was ever "out of control".

He went a little off temper but understandably so when you try to negotiate with some one and they make the play regardless without talking through things. If you cant negotiate there and you already became the fish you might as well make the guy who made you lose suffer to. Basic competitive instinct. Yet he still negotiated into a second so cant blame his strategy.

After that do whatever you like with my words. All I have is love for you Pete<3 It felt like you let your anger get the best of you. I'm not talking about the RISK side of things. Going after white after he broke your bonus is fine. I'm talking about your energy/emotions after at 4:32 - 5:45. You just seemed pretty ticked off in your energy/emtions toward Carter (white). Carter already seemed hesitant about attacking you as it seemed he was scared of your reaction. The reaction or whatever you want to call it came after you broke the bonus he stole from you. It made me understand why he was hesitant to break you. I think the silence after you finished speaking at 5:17 said a lot too and then someone broke the silence with "number 1 rule don't mess with Pete..." Felt like the mood took a shift during that silence. Let me say I understand. I've had BAD anger throughout my life. My 28 now. It's something I continue to work on. I don't take you as an angry type but as a human, I understand that it is something we can all feel, and sometimes it gets the better of us in moments. Still happens to me. I'm just lucky enough to not have thousands of people (like myself) self-analyzing you right now, lol. I've seen some of the other comments and I'm guessing it's not fun to read them. I understand your anger, and I understand your reaction, but it still doesn't make it right to put on to Carter. If anything I'd talk with Carter to see his point of view. I've never typed so much in my life to anyone on KZbin. The only reason why is because I really admire you and your points of view. Much love!
