I gave an RCA Colortrak (an older wooden console style) from 1997 a try and it surprised me. The picture quality was pretty nice but those CRTs have literally one of the most pronounced bubbles I have ever seen in any consumer grade set:m. Nothing special as far as inputs, just a basic composite and stereo, but that wood just looks nice. And you can just repurpose them as a table if they reach EOL, lol.

I always thought it would be cool to pull the tube out of one of those old console tvs with wood furniture and put a badd as 32 inch wega tube in there. I've heard good things about rca tubes but I've never seen one. I always wanted a proscan

@@riggel8804 The reason was definitely nostalgia driven. For my entire childhood from 4 until my early 20’s (I’m now 38) we always had the same 1989 RCA Colortrak 26” wood console TV in the livingroom. My dad used to swear by RCAs. I recall every TV in the house was always an RCA. After I started CRT chasing about 2 years ago, I’ve had a few, but was not impressed by the Truflat line. The Colortraks in hindsight were sort of a middle of the road set. I think I’ve gotten so used to flat Sony Wegas that the deep bubble shape (it may be even more curved than a D-Series) took my a while to get used to because horizontal lines tend to have a curvature if you are playing games standing up and looking downward at the screen. I definitely think it has a charm though. This one was $20 from an elderly person estate sale and was not turned on since 2008 so it took about a week to warm the components back up.
