I agree with your explanation and the logic behind it. BUT how does this same argument apply to Superman and his many 'versions' since it's said all his incarnations are one single entity? If I understand correctly all feats of one are the feats of another. Or perhaps timelines are considered differently. You're the expert compared to me, so I'll accept what you say.
