I disagree about the bunker scene; The back story was necessary. Otherwise we wouldn't have had any idea about how Shield wasnt what everyone thought it was. But I do believe the AI was a segue into Ultron, I think that was very obvious. The AI himself wasnt necessary, but all the information was.
@TheMrJayzmoove11 жыл бұрын
I honestly think the AI/sentient computer thing was a nod to MODOK. it sounded just like him, not to mention the batshit crazy type of computer it came across as
@intellix11 жыл бұрын
Junaid J. The computer was Arnim Zola, look him up, he was a hydra scientist that built himself a robot body in the comics long before MODOK was introduced.

Bruce Marlon who calls it a deus ex? That makes no sense, it doesn't conveniently wrap up the story with no explanation, it creates the explanation for a story that at that point in the film wasnt making any sense.
@ThatBlakeCampbell11 жыл бұрын
It was unnecessary. It was only necessary to explain the unnecessary plot twist.
@TheOriginalPoon11 жыл бұрын
Bruce Marlon oh I know the mechanics of it, I just dont see how one could say that it was indeed an "out" for the story; the situation was necessary, but the AI definitely was not.

this movie had what dark knight doesn't. a lack of arrogance, enjoyable action, and its not ashamed or strays away from admitting its a comic book super hero movie. cap fighting the french guy on the boat made him more relatable than your precious batman that i almost forgot he was super human. steve rogers is a badass in and out of costume, chris evans nailed it.
@ThatBlakeCampbell11 жыл бұрын
How did that scene make you forget he was super human? He took the guy out with two punches and sent him flying. And the Dark Knight was far from an arrogant, pretentious movie.
@EclipseHedgehog11 жыл бұрын
That Blake Campbell the hand to hand combat scene felt long and like it was trying to say "if you train long enough and ask the cap to put his shield up you just might have a chanc-NOPE" as for dark knight, well, the camera work zooming around all the politics in monkey suits with their superman poses yelling in an overacting voice, talking all 'poetic' like when in reality it looks silly. idk, i didn't like it as much as most people XD

The new Cap movie was a 7/10 for me, cool action, great performances but I was dissapointed with minor details, yeah like everybody little time for Winter Soldier, I would like the movie focused more on him, (SPOILER ALERT) Tthe third act the whole Hydra thing, Shield being infiltrated again like in The Avengers, the disk that lead to the origins to SHIELD, that meant nothing, just Hydra still existing, and a few plotholes but no importants. But I loved the MARVEL´S obligatory post-credit scene. These are the reasons I gave this movie my rating, the best standalone sequel of the MARVEL universe is still iron Man 3(yeah I know I´m gonna get some hate) the movie focused only on iron Man and that´s good for the trilogy,Not just another propaganda for The Avengers sequels.People bitch where were the other Avengers. This was iron Man´s story. also Thor The Dark World, it was Thor´s movie
@DigiMyst11 жыл бұрын
You can never have enough Winter Soldier, that guy was the textbook definition of badass. Since we are talking about spoilers, I've been hearing that the point of Zola and Hydra's reappearance is because they have a hand in the creation of Ultron. My guess is Zola's mind never actually died after the explosion at the original Shield headquarters; he downloaded himself to that flash-drive Black Widow took. At some point in the future, Tony Stark may get ahold of the drive and install it into his mainframe for whatever reason, and BAM! Ultron is born. I'm still trying to figure out why the drive needed to be taken to the headquarters though. Perhaps it's because Cap and Widow couldn't be briefed for their next mission, at the time, by Fury.

I give the movie 9.5 out of 10 I would be Spider-Man because he's like ironman and captain america in one. (smart,fast,strong,has spider senses,webs,flexible,funny,can heal fast,cool costumes,has a suit called ironspider,he basically beaten everyone in the marvel universe before,and finally died and came back alive.) that's why I would be Spider-Man.

Perhaps my only problem with this film is a problem all these marvel films share, there was no definitive ending, they always end with a lead to a sequel, for example you could watch the dark knight as a standalone film and not need to see any more. I didn't really like iron man 3 that much but it did have a definitive ending.
@michaelwise270411 жыл бұрын
Iron man 3 besides batman and robin was the biggest let down in comic book history
@michaelwise270411 жыл бұрын
I didnt say that said those to where the worse comic book movies . And in the 90 s I'm pretty sure people wanted to see it before they knew how bad it was . I thought iron man 3 was awesome until I watched it
@jonnemesis1111 жыл бұрын
Movies don't have a definitive ending, as long as characters stay alive there are countless stories you could tell. The Marvel movies have arks that start and end in the same movie and that's all you need.
@ComicCasual11 жыл бұрын
Movies should stand on their own, that's what he's saying. And he's got a point, most of the Marvel Phase 1 and 2 movies where just there to move along to the next ensemble film except Iron Man and Incredible Hulk. They have an "ending", duh, but they feel like chapters instead of actual films.

Taking Zola out? NONSENSE! Note: It being complicated brings a lot to the MCU for the past and the future, explaining a lot about the Shield in the universe. It gives you an idea of why the higher ups of shield would want to nuke NYC in Avengers. Because it was Hydra.

Great review, but I see you and Chris have the same problem with the computer scene, and that scene my friend was AWESOME.....the reason you guys don't like it is because you don't know who Zola was and how he looks in the comics, that scene was a huge plus for the fans who wanted to see stuffs like this make it into live action and I couldn't disagree more with you and Chris, but overall I glad you guys enjoy the movie....for me this one was 10 of 10.

I can't believe none of the comments are talking about the ending of this review. John, that was hands down the greatest and funny as hell ending to your movie reviews I've ever seen. That was an awesome touch John, incredible job on the ending and couldn't stop laughing for 5 minutes. Great movie review overall man, very funny as hell and great details on your opinion of the film. This film gets an A+, I was not bored once at all everything was perfect to me in terms of a story and execution and characters and The Winter Soldier. I loved every moment about it and definitely the most intense Phase 2 movie as well as being the least funniest Phase 2 movie which I'm cool with. The soundtrack for this film is good but it's nowhere near as good as the Alan Silvestri soundtracks in the original, I'm glad this sequel AT LEAST played the Alan Silvestri soundtrack once which was in the beginning of the film. Keep up the great work John!!! AMERICA!!!

This was a perfect blockbuster, smart, funny and action-packed. I don't want to hate on Man Of Steel, because I liked that movie a lot, but I have to say Marvel handles a lot of things better. MoS just tried to blow up as much shit as possible and it was a lot more boring than this. This movie only had a few spectacular explosions and mostly car chases and fist fights which were filmed and choreographed so precisely, it was just a thrill to watch. Everyone, especially Cap, Falcon and The Winter Soldier was incredibly bad-ass. The Winter Soldier really had that mysterious presence and his theme score that was used anytime he was on screen was fantastic. MAJOR SPOILERS I am truly curious as to how the MCU continues after this. Tony Stark isn't Iron Man, S.H.I.E.L.D. is gone, how will it all be like in The Avengers 2? How will Ultron and Thanos fit into the story? Will Falcon's and Cap's search for Bucky be a part of Cap 3 or Age of Ultron (personally, I'd love to see more of The Winter Soldier, but then Avengers 2 would just be too bloated)? And that post-credits scene was just plain awesome. Introducing the magic side of Mavel (anyone cought the Dr.Strange reference?) as this scary new thing was amazing and that last shot of Scarlet Witch just reminded me of AHS in its creepyness and teasing. Can't wait for everything new Marvel.

So The Flickster is literally saying to cut out the most important aspects of the film? Complex and convoluted? Is this guy a 6 year old in a 30 year olds body? Not to mention the AI is directly from the comics. Hell, this movie is a GREAT adaptation of the Brubaker era. Man, this guy is losing me fast the more I watch his reviews. I saw the movie on Friday. So many questions.... First so what happens to SHIELD now? Nick Fury goes incognito. Their facilities are destroyed. How will they provide the resources needed when the Avengers return and unite in Avengers: Age of Ultron? Is SHIELD completely gone now and thus the CIA takes over (because we saw one of Hydra's leaders - the guy with the funny voice - being arrested and taken away at the end)? That blondie chick is seen at a CIA shooting range too.

Kind of agree with you, but i think the computer stuff may have to do with some of the Ultron stuff down the road. also, is it just me or are the Stan Lee cameos starting to become a little grating? they make little to no sense at this point especially if all these movies take place in the same universe; in Thor 2 he was in a mental hospital in Europe and in this hes a security guard? Also i really liked how they made Senator Stern's insistence on getting his hands the "Iron Man weapon" back in Iron-Man 2 make a whole lot more sense.

Winter Soldier > The Dark Knight
@50Mahender11 жыл бұрын
well if we see the winter soldier as an action packed movie.it beats the the Dark Knight.because the hand to hand combat scenes were incredible.but the other aspects of the dark knight are far superior than winter soldier.For exp-the score by hans zimmer,the joker played by the ledger,the story and tight script by nolan ,the people of gotham(hope)it did't connect with the city.the ending i mean the way tdk ended it was perfect.but the winter soldier did't ended well...just towards the sequal or the avengers 2..
@jonathanlorenzo465611 жыл бұрын
In my honest opinion the only reason why I like the TDK was because of ledgers performance. 1.Hans zimmer's work hasn't felt the same since the 1989 batman film. 2. Non of the side characters felt interesting in anyway shape or form. Like I still remember freaking Bob (1989 batman) and how much of an impression he left on me. Way more Then Bruce's girlfriend or Alfred for that matter. 3.The choreography was really bad. Batman looked more like a brawler more then a martial artist. 4. And I'm sorry but the ending makes no sense.... Like "this is the hero Gotham deserves". Why can't you just blame it all on the joker. In the end it really was all his fault so why not? It felt like it wanted to make it self sound smart but just ended up being twice as stupid. But its just my opinion.........awesome truck flip though.
@50Mahender11 жыл бұрын
Jonathan Lorenzo you know i want say a lot of things about hanz zimmer who won oscar for lion king(does't matter if you did't like the lion king) also the inception's score- Time and others( does't matter if you did't like inception)also the thin red line (does't matter if you did't like the film's score)gladiater(does't matter if you did't like the gladiater's score)the dark knight all of them(does't matter if you were listing to other movies sounttrack while you were watching the movies)now clearly you will say..well bad movies won oscars.also you you say something like well i did't say i don't like his work just to cover yourself.so say something else.2-about the ending of tdk-well bro chris is a smart director he wants you to decide what did this happen.?and thats why ending are so important in a movie. he said that.so you have think again about movie and watch it again.
@jonathanlorenzo465611 жыл бұрын
1.what I ment by "hasn't been the same" was that batman the 1989 movie's (for me any way) music was the pinnacle of greatness for the entire set of batman movies (his work on other things is really good but when it comes to working with Nolan, it felt like its getting increasingly repetitive as the Nolan movies go on.) 2. You are honestly going to tell me that the ending makes sense? In what way? I'll say it again, they could have just said ("they" as in Bruce and jim) "joker manipulated and destroyed Harvey's life and career, and turned him insane." Done, but what we get is something so ridiculous that its funny to see people try to defend it, they often times just say "watch it again". 3. OK then let's go for more. Batman in the 1989 film felt that he was keeping all his problems in his mind, not trying to show off, which if you really thing about it, would be increasingly more difficult to figure out that he is batman. But with the TDK trilogy it felt like you could figure Bruce Wayne in about 3 hours, reason being is because he is trying way to hard (always trying to show that he has like 3 women around him at all times) . And again, this is mostly just my opinion (except the ending).

I am not understanding why everyone loves this movie so much. To me it was below average. Falcon was such a worthless character. You can argue about him destroying the Aircraft but that's it. Other than that he was there for bad, I mean bad, comic relief. You also had the Black Widow, who wasn't that interesting. I liked the banter between her and Cap but it felt like she tried too hard to be sexy when she doesn't need to try at all and she had some lame quips. Cap, who has been frozen in ice for 60+ years, had better comebacks. What they did right was show Cap's super human strength, his tenacity, and what he stands for. "I'll be with you till the end of the line" Everything is seemed typical for an Espionage movie. Throw in a couple twists, have some action, and have the credits roll. The after credit scene was actually worth seeing.

I thought it was cool . The falcon was cool also. But if I was to be a hero in marvel universe it would have to be wolverine, hulk, Spider-Man , or ironman and Thor. This movie was way better than the first one in my opinion because I feel like they had more time to plan out the movie opposed to it being made quick because of the first avengers movie (if that was the case idk) Chris evens is a good actor and all around the movie was really good in my opinion

This was a great movie experience for me in theaters because I missed out on seeing the first one in the theaters, however, while I thought the first one was good, but not really worth watching again, I found the sequel to be AMAZING, and FAR SUPERIOR to the first, is it one of my favorite superhero movie's of all time? NO, is it a dang excellent one that is fun to watch in theaters and worth watching a couple more times? Absolutely!

No way John! Saying that isn't necessary is very ignorant to understanding foreshadowing. It was absolutely necessary and without it the movie the story wouldn't make sense. Saying its convoluted seems a little silly, its complex. But never overlay so. Its clever.

If I had to choose, I think I would like to be Spider Man, but it really depends on which story line I live in because the writers really like to kill Peter himself off. But overall, I would very much like to be Spider Man because I can really relate with the character of Peter Parker more than say Batman, Superman, Iron Man or any one else from either Marvel or DC. Also I think he's just a really cool character with very unique set of skills and abilities. Not to mention I liked 3/4 of his movies a great deal (1,2 and Amazing). He's been may favorite hero all my life, and I think it would be a lot of fun. So yeah, sign me up as Spider Man.

john I couldn't agree with you more. The movie was great but I like you during the middle of the movie I felt like I needed about 5 minutes to stretch my legs. Over all it definitely gets A rating from me even thought the 2nd act kinda drags a little. I enjoyed more than the Avengers because to me The Avengers started off boring so I will give the edge to Cap. But what I really want to know is where the hell can I get one of those Nick Fury edition SUV's , that thing was bad ass!!!
