Thanks Bob. Planned? You'd like to think so but actually the finale was a happy surprise :-). Boiler pressure reached safety valves blowing and damp conditions all made it just so, Nick.

That is a very good question. Exactly WHERE does Baxter's coal come from if there's no bunker? There's not a huge pile of it in the cab either.

I’ve wondered the same thing myself. Now that the loco is part of the Steamworks exhibit at Bluebell you can have a closer look. There is a shelf like thing inside the cab so many that I suppose? It’s very unclear.

@@jackdowd4746, there are two coal bunkers in the cab where the coal is stored one to the left and one on the right in the front of the cab on the footplate.

Every steam engine - and every Rraction Engine - requires a certificate, issued by a qualified engineer, to say that they are safe. The vehicle cannot be insured without one and I believe insurance is compulsory.
