I love my black captain boots. Just bought them a month ago and have been wearing them every day. Took a few days to break in but now they are super comfortable and good for most occasions.

I have a pair of captain in classic brown color as well as more expensive boots. I agree Thursday boot is probably the best boots at $199 MSRP. However, the leather on these certainly doesn’t feel like $400 MSRP boots, so don’t get your hopes too up there. However, you can also look for factory seconds and clearance sales on these $400 MSRP boots sometimes around $200-$250.

I got the 8.5's in black, from the Classic collection. I've been trying on different pants like my beat-up work jeans that I wear for my FedEx job, and my dress slacks I wear when I'm not at work. They're casual enough to wear with the jeans, and dressy enough to wear with the slacks. I had a pair of Beckett Simonon Medina boots beforehand, they fit nicely for a bit but ultimately destroyed my pinkie toes. Time will tell if these do the same thing. I do wish they had C sizing, that would have probably worked out better for my narrow feet. Like you, I feel like the half-size is a tad too big.

How much room do you have in the toe box? I have about an 1” to 1 1/2” from my toe to the end of the boot. I ordered a half size down but exchanging for full size down from my sneakers cause I feel like I can push my foot forward in the boot about a fingers width from my heel to the back of the boot.

I definitely has some room as well I had about a half inch. Only reason I didn’t go down to a full size was because I was concerned that if I did it would be too small so I figured better to be a bit big than a bit too small. Next time I order from Thursday I’ll try a full size down and see how they fit.

They say to go one half size down from your normal shoe size. I still have some wiggle room. Perfect fit.

Hi. What is your foot length and boot size? So i ordered a Width: Standard Captian black matte 10/5 as recommended on their website half size down and man too much space between the end toe and the shoe. I have a 27.7 cm foot length with normal socks on. Before i send back the 10/5 what size do you recommend 10 or 9/5?

why would you think that $199 is a bad investment. I bought 2 pairs of Captains. A pair of the Classics that you have and a pair of the Arizona Adobe's. Both are great boots so I don't know why they would intimidate you. They are the best boot you can buy at the $199 price. What other gywed boot do you know that only cost $199 for most of the styles. They have 20 different styles to choose from and everyone is good year welted meaning these boots will last you a decade or more of normal wear and because I have 2 pairs to rotate it will definitely last me a decade before I need to resole. My Arizona Adobes are my shit kickers and the Classic that you have are for formal occasions. These are great boots for the price. No break in period whatsoever.

Also, do you think about that Matte Black versions? On their website it says that it requires very little maintenance care. Additionally, are the Captains good for standing all day such as an 8 hour work shift?

How does the comfort compare between the two models? The Classic Black has the DuraEVA Comfort Strip that Thursday says makes it more comfy like a sneaker. But the R&R Arizona Adobe doesn't have the DuraEVA and instead has leather insole. I'm trying to decide which one to get.

@@niko4074 yes and they are made to replace. They start off real comfortable and quickly go down hill. I wore mine everyday and got about 3 months before the problems started. My iron rangers took 2 weeks of 8hr day wearing and they lasted years. And are 100 times more comfortable. I've sent so many Thursdays back for QC problems, they are garbage with a comfortable insert. My cobbler laughed when I asked him to fix them.
