Back then, KTVU had GREAT children's programming with Bob Wilkins, Pat McCormick's Charlie & Humphrey and Bob March as Capt. Satellite. Great childhood memories.

I couldn't wait to get home from school and watch this show in the late 70s. We got it on early cable tv from the Bay area all the way up in Eugene Oregon.

Me and my little brother would love to watch those cheezy Japanese science fiction shows. We would rush to see Wilkins. But before that we loved him on Creature Features.

I wonder if Bob Wilkins had a lot to do with introducing Japanese sci-fi to american culture at large. When moving from Socal to the Bay, there was an awareness of Japanese entertainment that didn't seem to exist down south. I realize that Japanese-Americans and immigrants would obviously bring their entertainment with them, but having a Bay Area TV station that would show it to a lot of viewers seems like it would be effective in creating a broad awareness.

Maaaan. Was this tied into Specter Man and that weird martian guy who looked through a flying saucer porthole. It was Specter man and something else-man. One big gold guy. One silver who could fly? I’m digging back 46 years here. (sigh) Gen X. The forgotten crew

I liked Bob Wilkins and Pat McCormick, they were really great for television, I had it so good back then in the '70s. Captain cosmic and creature features were fantastic episodes, long live the legacy of Bob Wilkins. Pat McCormick had a great show after school as well, TV POW. McCormick's trademark was toodaloo 😊
