You definitely have to have the skill to crack the crab legs. I would agree with you that the shrimp is the way to go. My favorite. Captain George's has the best dessert of any buffet that I have been to. Lots of options and they are all good quality. Just hard to choose sometimes with so many options. I love the ship buffet. We had a Jake and the Neverlands Pirates theme birthday party for Carly when she was little and we fixed one of the tables with a sail. This reminds me of this. Everything was tasty! 😋 We have laughed and laughed about the spider. Carly told us right after we videoed the closing that she had her eyes on a spider. It all looks so good. I love crab. It's one of my favorites. The BIG sea scallops are my very favorite. You guys have had the big ones before, right? Cindy, I really like your shirt. I do hope some normalcy comes back even if only for a little while before Christ's return. David is the crab lover as you can tell. David likes sea scallops that are grilled the best. David says he has had the big scallops before. Or at least he thinks he has. I'm glad you liked my shirt. I would like some type of normalcy to return but I do know that Jesus will be returning. I too would like to see this country get back on its feet. We have to stand with Israel and stop killing babies. God will bless our country if we turn to him and get our priorities straight. I would love to come to Cape Cod one day and meet you. Wow I really love seafood , I could get lost in there for hours!. That look on David's face when he cracks open that first crab leg is like a kid in a candy store. Cindy you started out with an assortment of different items and Carly went right for the steamed shrimp. I think she would have liked the crab legs better if they were easier to open or had David the crab king to pull all the meat out of them for her. After the main dishes I could have a field day on those scrumptious looking cakes. Maybe one day I'll get to visit Capt George's. Great video and God bless my va fun seekers.

You are right, David was just like a kid in a candy store. Sometimes I go for the steamed shrimp first but took a different approach this time. lol David the crab king did pull some of the crab out for Carly. She likes to try herself but she hasn't got the technique down yet. She just doesn't have David's years of experience. lol The desserts to me are the best of any buffet that I have ever been to. The quality is so much higher than a normal buffet. The selection is so good too. Plus they have ice cream at this location. Hope you get to visit Captain George's one day. We have been to all the locations and only have the NC location to review now. Blessings to you!

We have been to all the Captain George’s locations except the one in Myrtle Beach. I don’t remember ever having cheddar biscuits at Captain George’s. I can never eat enough on the buffet to make it worth the cost. But Jack tries to make up for it. I didn’t know you could just order off a menu!? Huh. That might be a better option for me. This location is just beautiful. I believe it's the largest location. I have never had cheddar biscuits at any of the Captain George locations. So I don't know if it is new or just an option here. I completely understand about the buffet not being worth the cost for you because it isn't worth the cost for me and Carly. Now David gets his moneys worth. lol Hope you are having a blessed week.

@vafunseekers I didn't know that it was the largest location. The only reason I've been to that particular location is because we went to Myrtle beach for vacation. You might get a chuckle at this but my family loves the crab legs also. But I don't even eat seafood Lol. So I always get "the other" meat that they have on the buffet but I have noticed that they do keep it fresh though.

It is hard to find all you can eat crab legs. Or if you do it's so high you can't do it. We really enjoyed our food at Captain George's. We have laughed and laughed at the spider in the closing. We had no idea that you could see him. Carly told us about the spider. So when someone first commented about it we had to go back and see. Oh my goodness, there is so much awesomeness in this video, I don’t know where to start. But the 3 plus hour squat at this place is probably one of my favorite things I have ever heard you all do 😆😂😍 The best part being David was completely proud of that 😅 My hubby loves whole crabs the way David loves crab legs and we usually have a crab fest once a summer in PA. Dan will sit out for 2 hours taking them apart then eating them without a break. So I think they may be kindred spirits when it comes to crab 🦀 🤣 🤩 But also, I just love this place! We have gone there at Myrtle Beach several times but it has been years and this video pretty much had me salivating 😅 I need to get myself some crab now!! It definitely takes David awhile to eat his crab legs. We went to the Nags Head location when Carly was little. She fell asleep in the restaurant because David took so long! 😴 Of course she did play on the beach all day. It does sound like David and Dan may be kindred spirits. Cindy, I like where David said you got "some food" after your salad! If you ever look at cave art, you won't find too many petroglyphs of people stalking and spearing lettuce... Fried oysters are one thing i miss. I get them whenever I see them on the menu. I enjoy scallops just about any way they're cooked! And, that's one thing I'm good at. For the last Christmas my parents and I spent together in California (1979), we went to a place called "Ruben's" at Michilinda & Colorado in Pasadena, where we had supper on an AYCE scallops night. I put away five plates! My parents were surprised as I was not raised around seafood. (Other than McD's Filet!) But, by that point my future ex- and I had been dating for 10 months. And, between her and and us visiting her parents on the Northern Neck, I'd been introduced to lots of different seafood! (Alas, Ruben's didn't last long. It was soon replaced by a Coco's Bakery that lasted until the pandemic. Sill, 40+ years isn't a bad run for a restaurant.) Another great video! God Bless!

David sees no need in getting salad when you can get crab legs. lol David is also a fried oyster lover. He was absolutely blown away by the oysters that we got in Calabash. David likes scallops too. I have some I got at Trader Joe's I need to fix for him. I think David could put away 5 plates of scallops too. I like shrimp and fish. I used to not eat either but have started eating them. This is David's favorite restaurant. We will drive 2 1/2 hours to Williamsburg so he can go to that location. He loves it!

Ah, yes! One of the reviews I've been waiting for! The first thing I noticed, is how much better the selection was on everything when you visited, than when we were there in November. Far better dessert selection than what we had. I'm guessing you may have gotten there right as they opened? Also, how did you manage to get a picture with the parking lot empty? That was pretty cool. I am curious if they still have the Cajun crab legs? It seems like I had to ask for them, and they made some and brought them out, but it wasn't on the buffet then, either. I could tell David was very pleased with that first bite of crab legs. 😂 And we also agree about the look of the building. It is absolutely beautiful. I love the color. And we were there well over 2 hours, when we went. You have us definitely wanting to go back! Great video!

The selection was excellent for our visit. Sorry your visit didn't have the selection that you see on our video. The dessert selection was amazing. I think that Captain George's has one of the best dessert bars anywhere. They have lots of options and the quality is there too. David videoed that as soon as we got there because everyone was going for the food not dessert. We got there when they opened. David got the picture the following day before they opened. I think they had a Cajun boil but I'm not sure about just Cajun crab legs. David enjoyed every bite! lol It would be fun to meet up for a Captain George's. Not sure which one of you would eat the most crab legs. Appreciate your continued support!

It is a beautiful location with lots of delicious seafood. They have other options than seafood on their menu but it's not the place to go for Ginger if she doesn't like being around seafood. We lost count of how many clean plates David earned! lol He loves crab legs so he was in his happy place. Hope you and Ginger are good!

im just starting the video, cant wait to see it.. and at 1:41 mins, i never noticed the faded out “no guns” sign until seeing it here, but it is legal to carry concealed in SC there with a va carry permit. just sayin’. 😊 but yup, sure, they can put their little signs up, however us good guys/gals also need to have the right to carry vs just the bad guys. ok, now onto what im sure will be a yummy video. oh, and why am i up at 3:30am? after many years of NOT getting sick, no covid, no flu, no more cancer, no nothing (thx to taking vit d3 and zinc daily) well, last week, i had so many strangers openly hack right in my face, that im sure i got something from one of them. I cant lay down (lungs too stuffy/weezy) , so, no sleep for me but i did just test and its not covid. so, to this day, my hubby and i are the ONLY people we know, of all our circle of friends and family that have NOT had it. (knock on wood) lol

It's absolutely not cheap. Of course if you are a crab leg lover like David you will get your money's worth. Now Carly and I do not. You can order off of the menu if you choose to. David always receives some Captain George gift certificates for Christmas. It's a perfect gift for him since he really has everything. So it makes going here much more affordable.
