I just wish I could find a clip of the scene where Wendy is hiding from him in the rocks in the Black Castle, and the narrator says, "Thus Wendy first laid eyes on the dark figure who haunted her stories. She saw the piercing eyes and was not afraid... but entranced." This single line, this single scene was the impetus behind me creating my Forever Neverland series (I'm an NYT bestselling author of PNR but loved Hook so much... I wrote a young adult series for him and Wendy too.) Beyond Neverland is my favorite of the books I've ever written. And that single moment in this single movie - is why. :)

Captain Hook's rum would NEVER be gone! Seriously, yes, I think Captain Hook is much sexier than Captain Jack as a pirate--mainly because Johnny Depp doesn't play Jack as sexy. He puts on effeminate mannerisms and tries to hide his handsomeness. Jason Isaacs plays a very masculine, alpha-pirate, and shows off his looks. However, if Depp actually set out to play a sexy Captain Jack, no one in the world would be able to compete. It's only because he *doesn't* do that, that Hook even has a chance!

I know, I was being cynically hopeful, and unfortunately, you are right. I tried explaining to a group of my friends about a hook and wendy relationship, and they were entirely repulsed. HOWEVER. I read some incredible fanfiction with a grown-up Wendy and hook and I highly recommend them! "Forget Me Not" and "Why Do Swallows Nest In The Eaves Of Houses" and they will certainly let you get your fix on these two! lol :D

I will allow that there would be a competition, yes. However, I also think that Depp is one of the greatest actors of our time, and it would be his *acting* that would tip the balance (if he were playing Captain Jack as sexy instead of effeminate and drunk) in his favor. Jason Isaacs' acting is quite good, yes, but he isn't quite in the same league. I will say that I have no idea how people could think Jeremy Sumpter was hot, when he shared a screen with Jason Isaacs! No comparison!
