Thank you Capt Lee for opening up about your son’s addiction & your loss. And for being an advocate for parents going through what you are going through. I lost a friend from high school to drug addiction, not quite the way you lost your son but she also chose the drugs, refused the rehab & intervention from her family & friends. She became a prostitute to support her drug habit & one night made her drug dealer/pimp/boyfriend mad & he beat her & set her on fire. After 3 days in the ICU, she lost her battle. Another friend lost her daughter to drugs. She was found in an alley. The people that you are fighting for are the people that I lost. The statistics that no one really wants to talk about. But I thank you because they were loved by people too...normal, middle class, hard working people that just didn’t know how to handle drug addiction. They did what the experts said to do but it didn’t work. The only thing that will is preventing it from happening. Thank you for starting the process by talking about it openly.

What is really terrible is when someone has an entirely treatable problem, but the insurance won't cover effective therapy, they will only cover the drugs because they are cheaper. People get addicted, and lose everything. I've seen this way too many times in my professional career. Insurance companies should not be playing doctor!

My Nephew’s girlfriend, who used to be just beautiful, went from weed to pills to snorting pills then to heroin. She died of an overdose because someone laced the heroin with fentanyl.

I'm so sorry for your loss addiction is a horrible thing and it can happen to anyone, no one understands what another person is going through. I hope your Nephew is doing okay as he can, it's such a heartbreaking thing to watch someone go through. That's one of the biggest dangers as you don't know what someone could have put in it, people can be very evil 😔

The pain Cpt. Lee & his sweet wife Mary Ann and their son suffered during that son's drug addition and after his passing is heartbreaking. Doctors who prescribe the addictive drugs to patients need to be held accountable and wake up to the damage they're causing. Too many people go through a surgery, try to recover from painful injury or whatever and prescribed addictive drugs by their physician. The effects are live changing and not in a good way. No one talks about the doctors who continue prescribing those drugs and now look at the outfall. Most of the talk is only abouy "the drug addict", the toll it's taken on them, their family, friends, job, and home they lost. The end results ruins lives and causes death.
