Marvel had to sell they rights or go bankrupt thats y those movies were made in the early 2000s but the movie that actually saved marvel was Wesley snipes Blade which yall should watch as well he saved marvel then Spiderman and xmen 1 came out which gave them the life they needed

Also, Stan Lee passed away relatively shortly before this movie was released, so the tribute in the very beginning was in honor of that. Got people right in the feels.

I know people are very sensitive about watching the MCU in release order but i think starting with Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain Marvel. It doesn't spoil anything (other than a few after credits tags you gotta be careful with) and it actually does a better job of setting things up vs things just coming out of nowhere and then having to jump back in time to explain it. Everyone's entitled to their opinion but this is the way to go in my opinion. I'm so glad you did an MCU reaction! Can't wait to watch them all! Hope all is well!

Hey guys, release order is the order all these movies actually released in theaters. Chronological takes the year the movie is set in and puts the movies in that order. Chronological is a fun way to watch for fans who already saw them all. Since you didn't watch the post credit scenes, you didn't spoil yourselves that bad. You should treat these like a TV show, they're all connected in some way, don't skip any.

Captain Marvel requires a lot of explanation, so here goes: The original Captain Marvel was the character from Fawcett comics, the character we now call Shazam. During the Golden Age, Captain Marvel sold more comic books than even Superman, which made DC very mad, so they sued Fawcett out of existence and took the rights to all of their characters. To hold on to the character name "Captain Marvel," DC had to publish a Captain Marvel comic book every so often. They missed a publication window, so the name was up for grabs. Marvel decided to steal the copyright for the name by publishing a comic book with a character of that same name. The original Captain Marvel was a Kree scientist named Mar-Vell who opposed the militaristic/expansionist policies of the Kree empire. Because Marvel just threw that character together very quickly just to steal the copyright for the name, the comic book did not sell very well, but they had to keep publishing the comic book in order to hold on to the name. (Note, because of this, the DC character had to change his name to Shazam.) Thus, the name became a title that was passed from character to character as Marvel tried to find a version of the character fans actually liked. Monica Rambeau actually held the title before Carol Danvers. (Monica is also ridonculously powerful, as you'll find out later.) Carol Danvers was originally a girlfriend/sidekick character for the original Captain Marvel (Mar-Vell). She had superpowers of her own. At some point, some male writers did a really disgusting story in which someone used their superpowers to force her into a marriage against her will, after which she had a baby. The male writer of the X-Men Chris Claremont became enraged by this entire storyline because he (correctly) felt that it was basically raped, and none of the other heroes reacted in an appropriate manner to that rape. So he managed to get Carol Danvers moved to his X-Men comics. There, he did the memory-wipe story in order to retcon the whole rape story and simply act like the whole thing never happened. Then he gave her a huge superpower upgrade to make her more prominent so that other writers would have a more difficult time putting that character through any similar story developments. Marvel continued to struggle to find a version of Captain Marvel that fans actually liked, when people noticed that Carol Danvers was the only Captain Marvel character fans actually liked. So they promoted Carol Danvers from Ms. Marvel to Captain Marvel, and gave the writing duties to a woman writer who changed the story into a female empowerment fantasy that proved popular with women and girls. This in turn left the mantle of "Ms Marvel" to be passed on to someone else, who became one of the most popular Muslim superheroes in the Marvel universe. Anyway, I hope this explains some of the undertones of what is going on. One of the genuinely interesting things about this movie is that it inverts the typical origin story. Instead of meeting the character, and watching them acquire power, the character starts out with powers and a memory wipe and has to learn who she is. This fits great with the female empowerment fantasy because she has to learn to stop letting the expectations of others hold her back: a critical lesson for girls. But the downside is that we do not get to truly meet the character until we get to the climax when everything is exploding, and we the audience don't really get a chance to form any emotional bonds with the fully realized character. Further, if you look on the Internet, you will see a lot of anger from fake fans (the anti-SJW crowd) who have their collective panties in a bunch simply because this story is a female empowerment fantasy, and you know how that lot reacts to that sort of thing. To them, women are meant to be trophies for the hero and villain to fight over, not people who make important decisions and whose actions can have significant impacts on the plot. (Note: female empowerment fantasies are pretty core to the whole comic book superhero genre and go all the way back to Wonder Woman, so anyone who says "girl power" with a sneer on their face is not a real comic book fan.) Wrecking the [bad word] out of giant capital spaceships is kind of her whole deal. I would just love to see what she could do to a Super Star Destroyer in the Star Wars universe.

It's Stan Lee his original name was Stanley Martin Lieber. He just shortened it to Stan Lee. His brother is Larry Lieber. 😅 Blockbuster™ circa 1995 in the movie timeline. 😅 Aliens would be Area 51. You might be thinking of Warehouse 13. 😂 Ronan the Accuser is a zealot. He is a strong believer in racial purity and believes the Kree are superior to other races, hence his bad attitude. 😅 Yes, Goose is not a cat he is a Flerken...he just resembles a cat...but is actually a dangerous alien species brought to earth by Dr. Wendy Lawson (Mar-Vell). Much like we would bring a Rottweiler or German Shepherd. 😮 That thing is the Tesseract an alien artifact of immense power that was considered the Jewel of Odin's vault collection. Odin moved it to earth as it only invited interested parties in search of such power to attack Asgard. So they hid it on Earth in the chamber the Red Skull eventually discovered. 😮 Don't forget to catch the end credits scenes

Explanation about the Kree and the Skrulls: During the Cold War, America and the USSR used whole nations as pawns in a global conflict. A lot of nations resented both countries because of the things we did. The Kree-Skrull conflict is meant to help Americans understand why many of our allies were mad at us during that time period. Just as America and the USSR used whole nations as pawns, the Kree and the Skrulls use whole planets as pawns in their galactic conflict. Earth is often an innocent bystander in their conflict and nearly helpless to stop them in their various machinations against each other. The various sentient species of Earth rightly resent both the Kree and the Skrulls for using and sometimes harming the Earth just to hurt each other. The Supreme Intelligence is not an artificial intelligence. The reality is so much creepier. The Supreme Intelligence is an amalgam mind (kind of like the Borg) of a group of the smartest Kree. As individuals in the matrix die of old age, new very intelligent Kree are plugged into the machine. Thus, the Supreme Intelligence is a single consciousness that spans many Kree lifetimes. In the distant past, the Kree were a more idyllic society, with historians and artists and the usual stuff. Ever since the Supreme Intelligence took over, all of Kree society was converted into a military, which is now bent on nothing but constant conquest of other planets. There are a variety of Kree who want to go back to the way things were, but none of their revolutionary attempts succeed because they cannot possibly out-think or out-plan the Supreme Intelligence. They are basically a galactic version of Sparta now. Every Kree is a soldier, and their various enslaved species handle running the empire. The Skrulls were originally a people we would classify as "good," but after centuries of playing galactic politics, have become fairly corrupt. They are originally from the Andromeda galaxy and came to this galaxy in pursuit of some crazy prophecy. The Skrulls are one of the few Marvel civilizations that use both magic and science (like the Wakandans). Most civilizations use one or the other.

As a veteran, i noticed a glaring mistake in the movie. The Kree called her Vers because of the right half of the dogtag left over. But as any service member knows, it's last name first, first name last on dogtags (Danvers, Carol). So, her Kree name should have been Arol, not Vers! Drives me crazy every time I see it lol!

To be fair, I think Carol’s (exotic-sounding) “Kree” name was purposefully chosen as a manipulation tactic to make her believe she was fighting for “her” people - accordingly, they had to use/twist any remaining kernels of mental truth in a way that reinforced the false identity she was given. Also, in her amnesiac/brainwashed state, she probably wouldn’t have any recollection of the naming conventions used for dog-tags on Earth. So…she remembers wearing something with the letters “VERS” on them = that must be her name, right? (RIGHT?! 😳) 👾🪖👾

Story function: Marvel has a whole section of its universe devoted to space/science fiction stuff. You'll meet this part of the Marvel universe in the Guardians of the Galaxy. Captain Marvel sort of serves as the interconnecting tissue between the space stuff and the parts of the Marvel universe that happen on Earth. She will eventually be in command of an organization called SWORD, which is a sister organization of SHIELD, and will eventually be the organization that deals with extraterrestrial threats. So, for example, any Earth spies operating in alien empires will answer to SWORD. As of now, SWORD has not officially adopted those duties in the MCU yet, and Carol is not yet running things. I suspect they will hand the reins to Monica instead of Carol. Anyway, speaking of Monica, I love the fact that you can usually tell when a child is a future superhero in these Marvel movies. Monica is so obviously a future superhero, and so is another cute little girl you will meet in Ant-Man. The "old guy" is Stan Lee (Stanley Lieber), who was a very important comic book writer from the Golden Age who went on to become the editor-in-chief of Marvel comics. He created many of the comic book characters you see. Pretty much every Silver Age comic book character you run into was his creation. At some point, he gave up control of Marvel comics, and ran off to Hollywood to try and convince Hollywood to make TV shows and movies based on Marvel comics. At first, no one took him seriously, but his tireless work for decades ultimately led to the MCU. At some point, he signed a contract with someone that he got to make a cameo appearance in every Marvel movie. Fans grew to love those cameos, so even after that contract no longer held any power, people kept putting him in Marvel movies. This was the first movie after his death, that is why you see so many images of him in the opening title sequence.

Never saw that twist coming with Skrulls. Larson was great as Captain Marvel. I got a movie reaction suggestion for you guys it's one of my favorites, The Final Countdown (1980) The U.S.S. Nimitz goes back to December 6th, 1941. It's filmed on the Nimitz. It's like Top Gun meets Back to the Future.

I'm actually glad you're watching it in chronological order. It helps to follow the storyline better, otherwise there's gonna be characters who are supposed to be dead appearing again and it would be confusing. In this case, Ronan died because of the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' and the guy with the two swords is the one that Drax killed while understanding metaphors,the one who didn't knew starlord... You both watched 'Guardians of the Galaxy' very recently,but imagine how confusing it was to see that movie and five years later get to meet the same characters saying that they're the good ones,when you obviously know it's not like that. 'Black widow' is also a movie to watch before 'infinity war's even if it was released way after. So whoever is telling you to watch it in the release order is making no sense. They want you watch it as they did instead of how the story is actually told. Now,you know that the Krees are enemies of everything,that there's an organization called SHIELD that's aware of aliens and they have the tesseract.(which you know from 'guardians' to be one of six weird stones of power) There's also a inventor called Stark who worked with the tesseract,and in creating captain America. And SHIELD is creating an initiative to find heroes who can protect earth, having already Captain America. (Also Fury got his eye destroyed due to getting an alien creature that's universally categorized as a high level threat annoyed...) Those are the bases to actually understand the MCU, and you have it because you watched it chronologically.

I wanted to like this movie, but the plot is just way too nonsensical and full of really dumb choices that don't serve the characters they're trying to portray. The fact the movie is also heavy-handed with modern politic messaging is just the insult to injury but the movie would have been fine despite it if the story made even a tiny bit of sense. Even in the world this move posits, the events that take place and the choices the characters make constantly pull me out of the movie thinking, "Are you kidding? WHY? That's ridiculous!" and the like. You don't even have to over analyze it to see the cracks, you just have to be paying attention! I think Brie is a more than capable actor too, which is a shame. Her comments and PR aside, she obviously has talent. It's just a shame this movie doesn't showcase that even a tiny bit. It really is a wasted opportunity, this whole film.
