Every since I did my homework on Carol Danvers, I have become an even bigger fan of Captain Marvel. I believe Carol Danvers is the single most versatile Avenger to enter the MCU. I enjoyed the Captain Movie. Like everyone, I could have nitpicked through flaws in the movie, but l let myself enjoy it and came away entertained. If someone just doesn’t like all things Captain Marvel, that’s fine. But the idea that the Captain Marvel movie and actress that portrayed her, deserves such hate is just ridiculous.

The backlash on you tube happened because someone said she should have smiled in the movie posters and she asked , would people say that if she was a man. I don't know details but she said something about white men and after that there was a campaign to say negative things about Brie and the movie, before the movie came out. Maybe they wanted to make sure the movie made no money. So, this was just revenge for something she said because she was told she looked too stern and serious in poster and trailer. As if she was in charge of the how the poster and trailer looked. She was neither the director nor producer, just an actress. That is my understanding.

People nitpick everything about this movie to try justify the hate. In my opinion, you might not like the movie - it's fine, but the hate toward Brie and this movie is just absolutely unreasonable. Hate is contagious, you see a lot of people disliking the movie even BEFORE the movie came out and its just so easy to jump in the bandwagon because having a lot of people who share the same opinion with you feels validating. I enjoyed the movie. Its not perfect, could it be better? Yes. Just like every movie. But I see a lot of people spend a lot of energy trying to downvote this movie in every site is just ridiculous. It is funny how FANS, who WANTED Brie to be Captain Marvel, now suddenly dislike her. From all the news, rumors and such about Brie and Captain Marvel, I bet only half of them are true. I have followed Brie and her career (especially Captain Marvel) for quite some time now, and I sense NO feminist or hatred towards men or anything of any kind. The rumor about the Avengers cast not liking her, seems to be false as well. In fact, Chris Evans - Captain America himself - worked with Brie in the past and loved the idea of her being Captain Marvel. And from what I gather, she does seem to get along with the other cast quite well...Yes, she said something that could be described as being offensive. HOWEVER, I am white (and 40) and I am not offended in the slightest. She was just saying that the movies might not be for everybody. Nothing more, nothing less. At least, that is how I see it...
