One thing I don’t see people say enough to new hourglass players is to simply watch other people play! I’ve been watching ur vids of just simple hourglass matches and it has helped me a TON in solo pvp!!! Thx a lot, ur such an underrated KZbinr!

Yesterday, I got in a long fight against a skilled pvp curse pirate. I had 0 cannonballs, food and wood and he had tons of supplys. I went in for a last ditch broadside. I balled him and we rammed so i jump on his ship to grab some supplys. I ended up killing him 3 more times and he sunk before i could sail his ship out of bounds.

Idk if its just a trick of the recording but whenever I'm watching hourglass it seems like there are almost NEVER waves messing with aim, and I'm sure that it just LOOKS like that bc the people I'm watching play the game for a living and are infinitely more skilled I: but my point is like when I do hourglass I will be lined up broadside, and then (pretend each line is a new shot) First shot goes high, aim lower still too high, aim lower, still too high, we are perfectly level with each other now, keep same angle still too high, aim lower too low, aim way higher too low, can't see their ship anymore cause waves turn out cause they've nailed every shot like its nothing I cannot understand why the waves affect my aim so badly vs other players

Its to do with the direction in which you're sailing. If your ship is heading perpendicular to the direction the waves are going (waves coming against the side of your ship) then the ship will roll more and it's harder to aim. If your ship is parallel to the waves direction then the roll is slower and minimised, making it easier to aim. A good thing to be aware of but with spiralling constantly its not always possible to use this to your advantage unfortunately.

If a ship brings its sails up and stops do the same but then drop and let ur boat sail in a circle. Go for a board.

First to comment :) How do you begin your session when it comes to supplies and how do you resupply if you sink?

Most just buy supplies from the merchant and the shipwrights. That’s usually enough to get started.

if there is a nearby skeleton camp, sea fort, or shipwreck I usually stop by and grab supplies. Normally I just grab merchant and shipwright supplies tho

@@allevalle8835 in both scenarios I start up a new boat by buying a cannonball crate and a storage crate, as well captain supplies for wood,cannonballs, throwables, fruit, and meat. Pretty much everything except bait.

I seem to miss all my cannon shots in hg when we are a bit far off and thats primarily my main prob. Do you ever see yourself doing a cannon guide? Great video btw. Cheers!

I never anchor in solo pvp. Its better just to sail them out of bounds. Unless ur terrible at tdm.

Okay so i just want to say that honestly i HATE hourglass. I dont mean i hate pvp pvp is cool but the way that hourglass works, that it lets other ships interfere and cheaters runners toxicism etc. It just completely burned out my flesh( thats why im a skeleton my profile picture is my real look) because i met one sweat that didnt even sink me he just played with me and laughed from me. I also met many runners that wasted my time. And many more. I just want the rewards and then i switch to pvp with random people i find in game

How do you recover when your mast is chopped and the enemy begins death spiralling you?

you make sure you turn with them so they can only open left side holes and keep cannon pressure on them

@@goosemcgoose6951 try to keep spin with the enemy by keeping your left side face them and try to repair right side holes while also going up to hit the enemy with cannons and snipes to get them off cannon and give pressure. Make sure you wheel never gets fully broken
