I mean yeah New Donk City as a Smash Ultimate stage and Cappy changed Mario but the actual game Odyssey doesnt receive anything beyond Costumes anymore (once per month even) and since they got leaked already as far as im aware unless they do the same as Kirby Star Allies Wave 2 Dream Friend number 3 reveal and show something that cant be datamined Odyssey isnt exactly going to be in the minds of other People outside of the new games.

It'll probably happen eventually. Despite the game not being as successful as Odyssey was, with it being the worst selling 3D Mario game & getting a 93 on metacritic instead of a 97, it still did relatively well on the Wii U, with it selling 5 million copies, so I don't why they won't port it to the Switch. Not to mention I think it would be really cool if they make a new world with stages based on the kingdoms in Super Mario Odyssey, but as long as they put in more than just four levels.

ValensBellator between Tropical Freeze, MK8 Deluxe, and now this, it's pretty clear that Nintendo isn't all that interested in selling these ports for people who already owned the wiiu versions, and are content to basically release the same games that were on wiiu to pad their library out for all the new people buying switches. I honestly don't mind, there's enough new games coming out for the system that buying those costs all my money anyway, no reason to double dip on ports unless I didn't own them on wiiu (like with Bayo 1 and 2)

Coolman Hahn Yeah for most games it didn't really bother me... I thought the additional battle mode on MK8 fixed the only major gap from the original, and otherwise the ports just haven't had much additional content. This one disappoints me a little though... it's a game that is very small in scale and uses preexisting assets that should have made for an easy update with more than merely 4 levels. I wish the game were open to a modding community, as it has a fun potential that will never be reached otherwise.

Carl Bloke Maybe they didn't want critics complaining about those levels. IIRC, people didn't like those levels because they weren't optimized well for Captain Toad. I would still prefer to get more content, though. Also, it would be a bit weird to see 3D World levels on the Switch.

Yustin J. 3D World isn't on the Switch. The 3D World levels were pretty much an advertisement for 3D World and it would be weird to advertise a 5 year old game that isn't on the same console.

I never played this when I had a Wii U, but I might pick it up now. Although I would also like another game styled after 3D World on the Switch. The 64 and Sunshine Crowds were finally given Odyssey, so maybe in a couple of years, Nintendo should give us rare 3D Land/World fans some love.

Since I know that you guy’s will do lost bits for captain toad, I’m going to give you the first 2 that I noticed. The first one is if you go to level 1, and find a golden mushroom. If you see a poster look carefully and you might see a character. The second one is when you fight windego. If you look on top of windegos hat, you’ll see the cape feather from super Mario world

I'm the type of person that really likes to use TV mode over Handheld mode. But, I don't want to play Captain Toad using motion controls, so I'm sticking with the Wii U version, especially since Captain Toad wasn't made with the Switch's type of control style in mind.

Nick Katasonov I personally prefer the motion controls because the Wii U version moved the camera with even slight movement, and you would have to look at the gamepad to touch the right object and then back up to the TV. I haven't tried the Switch version yet, though. But it seems like each version has their own pros and cons but the Switch has more pros and less cons imo.

I think it’s worth double dipping for me because my Wii U gamepad’s screen broke, and so I am unable to play the Wii U version anymore. So it’s definitely a must buy for me because I loved the game on Wii U, and I want to play it again, and since the gamepad’s broke, this is my best option to do so. 🙂

I was never able to get this game on the Wii U, mainly because I wasn't paying much attention to the games that came out on it, but I really wanted to get this game, it seemed pretty fun, unfortunately though, I was pretty broke after buying some other Wii U games, like 3D world, Smash 4, and some other 3DS games. Anyways, you probably don't want to hear the rest of my story, the point is, I got the game, and it's pretty fun.

So there's a 3DS demo. But I have too much data to download. But does the 3DS version play more like the WiiU version? By that, I mean using the mic & touchscreen since I know some mechanics were changed for the Switch version. It would feel right at home for me. I like that the ports has some flaws with it's changes. It shows a great balance between all 3 versions and no definitive version. Now I just hope 3DW gets a port. Noticed since Tennis Aces more 3DW characters have been returning. But there is one 3DW character in particular I wanna see return and he's on my profile pic. :( He needs to be in another Mario game! Perfect new partner for Yoshi aside Birdo. Also if 3DW gets ported I have some ideas to improve it. More playable characters(Daisy, Yoshi(was suppose to be in original, but Peach shoved him put >:[ ) better camera, replace stamps as they were completely useless. Maybe red or blue stars or moons, even shines. They can unlock levels based on not just Odyssey but other 3D Mario games like 64. Online play. A huge miss opportunity was playing 3DW online with friends. Many don't have family or friends around who would be interested to play this. So being able to play with friends online would of made 3DW even more fun. New modes/minigames for online. Maybe Plessie races. You can even pick Dorrie or Penguin. Who can collect the most stars or coins in a room, who can kill the most enemies and survive, say an endless mode. More Pless lvls since he was really seen in 5 but 3 was where he was needed and make them harder. Maybe you ride pless through lava and you gotta keep getting stars to stay invincible swimming in lava. I know it's a lot, but I'm one of the few people who enjoyed 3DW. I hope we get another 3DW like game but more elements from past Mario games return like the Super Cape, Tatanga & Wart.

Well just as an update for those who are unaware, captain toad is actually only 40 dollars as seen in Amazon, so I feel that this makes it a more reasonable purchase for Wii u players and especially switch players, because of the 33 percent price drop

Does auto-grabbing spinning handles make going for low times difficult or even impossible? I'd imagine trying to squeeze past a wheel only to stop dead and grab it could affect any player's final time.

Nah, it might slow you down by a second or two. It's just more annoying than an actual hindrance. Plus it doesn't happen in handheld mode

There's a channel called BeardBear with a walkthrough, and that person manages to simply walk right past a spinning wheel (steps on the grey platform and just keeps on walking). The cursor is up on their screen, so I have to imagine they're playing docked...unless the motion control cursor can appear even in handheld mode. Maybe you can slip by without auto-grabbing if you don't get too close? Guess I'll find out soon, as I'm buying it regardless!

I tried the 3ds demo & it felt a lot more awkward with the c-stick and I kept accidentally trying to touch the top screen to move things instead of the bottom screen. The visuals were a bigger downgrade than I was expecting. It was decent enough I guess but I'm definitely sticking to the Wii U version.

Actually, I'm the complete opposite. From what I've played of the demo on 3ds I prefer using the C-stick over the touch screen controls as I find the C-stick controls much better. Whenever I get the game on 3ds that's​ the way I'll be playing.

The game isnt that big but that doesent become a problem, the whole flow and gameplay of the game are Nintendo magic and its minimalistic form is extremly indulging. Its a really good and unique puzzle game. I really hope theyll make a sequel.
