I think we can find more tactics and variety of models to keep using the ink bow in the future. Maybe a version that buffs the rapid fire close range attack and makes it look like a Aerospray weapon, or a version that buffs long range damage in exchange for charge time like the Pro weapons?
@JZblue92 жыл бұрын
about the aerospray thing, you literally described, REEF-LUX, actually. try it out, just walk forward, tap the fire like 2-3 times, then swim forward and repeat. seriously, it's actually the best inker in the game. it leaves a column of ink bigger than anything else in the span of less than half a second. it kinda blows at killing people though, in return, unless you get the one tap (the full charge can be held under ink btw).

Huge tip for when a slayer weapon starts running at you and you failed to stop their approach: Do not try to shoot directly at them while they get within range. Fire arrows at where they need to be in order to kill you. Force them to take damage if they commit and RUN. It's more worth it to escape the encounter than almost certainly lose it.

a helpful thing to know for me was that you can jump back to base any time not just to teammates, i didnt really realize that untill i saw someone do it in a video(though idk how they do it so fast...) and before that there would be times where i fell off the ledge and then... just complete panic, though i managed to get some splats close range idk how i did it sometimes it works out (maybe cause i normally play sploosh though that throws me off a little cause im used to basically just always holding the button to go to squid form cause theres no slowdown going in and out of ink with sploosh). though you can still run around well enough, an uncharged jump shot at the right angle can ink a decent path, takes time to get comfortable enough with it to move in to midline, nice for getting some control on things above you like bridges n such, not just getting over cover. also idk how useful it is yet but you can also hit people with the uncharged shot while looking to the side of them since it fans out, though i suppose you wouldnt be aiming the right way for if you did a jump shot, ill play with it some.

I've main Tri-stringer since day 1 (currently at S+2) and I've gotta say, I love the feel for it. It's such a technical weapon, and for a backline-esque weapon, it feels solid in every mode. I run a fashionable set, but for anyone planning to try the weapon, I feel like Main Ink Saver and Run Speed Up are some of the best skills to run. Also arc 1 shots are crazy, like when I hit them I feel so bad cuz they never saw it coming (P.S. I’ve been meaning to try thermal ink so I’m glad it got brought up in the vid, I wonder if it’ll be a good scout weapon on team comps)
@WadWizard2 жыл бұрын
thermal ink is nice especially since you should probably be laying down the horizontal charge shots to deny ink and deal chip damage anyway, so then in those times when they do hide, or if youre dealing with a charger or another tristringer you can see them hiding behind cover, i throw tenacity on as well cause it just gets you killer wail more often to disrupt anchors and pushes especially when you probably need it.

I just want to thank you for confirming that all my instinctual strategies actually worked and made sense. This is my first Splatoon game and bows are one of my favorite weapons, so I grinded until I could get it. Whenever I play a shooting game, I immediately take on the support role and that's how I've been playing the stringer so far. It's very easy to deny the enemy team any space once you get to a good vantage point. Also I agree that toxic mist doesn't help, tried using it to scare enemies and it somehow made them more aggressive. Anyways, thanks for the useful video and I shall now subscribe.

Well, tri-stringer is so heavily dependant on my team mates, when there are tons of weapons around that can do what it does much faster and more efficiently. IT has its uses, I guess, but just being backline support is probably not enough. However, if I have to rely on team mates, I'll swiftly go insane from anger, because they aren't pushing forward for one reason or another. When the way is cleared. It's basic tactics, is all I'm saying. I also think you basically have said everything about the tri-stringer. OTher than how you keep your aim as steady as that. Then again, I use motion aiming, so maybe lowering that sensitivity isn't a bad thing. Or you're using sticks.

As someone who has stumbled into maining the smol bow, the temptation to spam uncharged shots there is even greater, and it can some times work. But that weapon's level 2 shots are even faster to charge up so firing with that rhythm is still most effective. Also the statement about a support weapon that can get kills is also very true of the Reef-lux. That sucker paints almost as well as an Aerospray, and it has one of the most oppressive, spammable specials in the game. But you can still go in and flank and get kills. Netflix has a newer Carmen San Diego cartoon. It's really good.

Tactics! I really felt like to tri stringer was going to be bad after testing it out, but i ended up winning 5 tower control matches in a row with bow after just picking up the weapon that same day. It was in A rank but i think it did good. I also found out it takes 3 half-charged shots to break rainmaker shield (with all 3 hitting so u would have to be close, but thats pretty fast)
@franciszekbalcerowski18142 жыл бұрын
yeah this thing legit comparable to sploosh in that aspect. Combined with being a great rainmaker carrier (because it’s a back line and loves run speed) this thing really excels at tower control and rainmaker. I do think Explosher may be better in zones, but honestly the Tri Stringer has felt incredible so far. I believe that a lot of the complaints about it in the video just coke from a dislike for back lines and people complaining about the stringer after the official trailer. We Stringer mains really need to show how effective it really is. Might have another bamboo situation on our hands.
@cise38952 жыл бұрын
Another way to paint with the uncharged shots is to shoot once at a high angle, then again almost directly into the ground. The arrows from the first shot should then reach the ground around the same time as the second shot. No idea how it compares to the method in the video in terms of speed and ink consumption, but hey at least you can _mostly_ see where you’re going.
