The KRONOS Really Surprised Me For Core Garrisons! || EVE Online

As a solo player, a max DPS blaster-fit Kronos with dual armor repair has been my go-to ship... Its weakness is cap, so I use character cap implants and install a battery injecter to compensate for it... I also use tracking scripts to extend range and install 2 good smart bombs to deal with frigates and drones... My first priority is to be overly prepared for gangs dropping on me, so the Kronos acts like a bait ship to gank the gankers... 💥

Ohhh wish I could play EVE again. Used to play back in the day and had to stop due to rl time constraints. Started playing echoes in the open beta and enjoyed it until netease really messed it up, gave up finally in January this year. Seeing the EVE online content here really makes me want to start again... Perhaps I will find time again, who knows. Until then I'll enjoy the content here. Thank you captain!

EVE Online is going from strength to strength, and doesn't take much time to play. I find that, in Echoes, you need hours to do anything, whereas in EO, I can log in and feel like I've achieved something after as little as 30 mins.

I still think you should try a sniping fit with a micro jump drive. I'm always able to shoot frigates down before they get close enough to become a problem, and if they do get close, I can jump once more as I have a turret falloff of over 200Km

I have a range of 224km targeting and 216km with Spike L ammunition, so some times I can jump twice before I activate the bastion module and then just start sniping them as they move toward me. I use a Kronos for Triglavian Werpost response fleets. I've lost two so far (one along with a high-grade Asklepian clone set! due to CCP's beloved disconnects), but I have a fit now that can tank two response fleets at once. That's up to six Hospodar Leshaks (and sometimes a Zorya BS, BC and more) and 25 other ships including lots of neuting and tracking disruption. I would suggest using implants and A-Type multispec membranes and a DC II and one X-Type repper and 2 x Heavy X-Type Nos. The Nos will keep you alive while you blap the NPCs, I would also use a faction grappler and Domination web. You will kill the frigates and cruisers very fast this way and use less cap. You could, of course, warp in at over 100km and use large Rails. Large rails were recently buffed and do a lot more damage than they used to. You could refit for the Drifter BS.

@@captainbenzie BTW, I would add that while they're still valed, you should get and use Fed Navy boosters from the Capsuleer XX days. The level II ones are cheap and the projection and application ones help the Kronos a lot.

Can you not tank and kill the drifter with this? Do you have a refit that can survive/kill the drifter? Also can this do all the C5 sites?

You need to refit for the Drifter and other sites. This works as a core fit, look at what makes each site otherwise special and refit (it's usually upping tank or capacitor)

Honestly, no. The Rails buff was great but doesn't affect their tracking which is where they fall down here.

Can't even begin to fathom losing 3.5bn ISK worth of ship... like in reality in order to buy one of these to start with you'd need ~10bn ISK in the bank... how to you even get that money!

EVE is a ramping game. You start off in cheap ships earning cheap ISK. As you grow, you'll fly more expensive ships that earn more ISK. A C5 combat site is 250m per site. So these Marauders are expensive but make a LOT of ISK back.

I'm full 5 on everything, the amount I have doesn't matter. Check up on the amount of damage the rats can do, you just need to aim for that (even then, taking more damage early isn't an issue since you take damage, your armour goes down, you kill enough to equalise, then outrep the damage)

No, it doesn't, not solo at least. The Sleepers are too fast, close the gap, and then you can't hit them.

Railguns works good in C4 with mjd (5-6 min per anomaly). But kronos is just better with blasters - use dualbox, make proper bookmarks, clear strongholds in 8-10 minutes.

I love the look of the armor repair it looks alot cooler thqn shield repair. I am really looking forward to flyong a marauder at some point after a vagabond! Thats ny dream ship at the moment. 😊

@captainbenzie oh that'd cool ! Thanks! I have NO issue with shield tanking. Most of my current ships are shield tanked, but I have been learning about the benefits of armor tanking, and it seems like it has some really good strong points to it.

@@smoore6461 it's slower, but more cap stable for sure! Definitely both have their benefits and drawbacks - though I'm an old Minmatar dog so I tend to prefer signature or speed tanking where possible and just avoiding damage entirely!

I´m far from flying this class of ship but i noticed something REALLY stupid and if any1 have a good answer for why this is the case then feel free to comment. The align time of that Maurader is faster then your average Mining Barge. Just why??? Your average Barge is sitting on around 15sec, that Kronos is 1 of the biggest ship classes and it only hade 10sec.

It's a battleship. Battleships are meant to be *somewhat* mobile since they're intended for battlefield use so have basically the necessary systems fitted. Mining Vessels are cumbersome, laden with heavy engineering and industrial equipment plus all the space required to hold ores etc. Not to mention that mining vessels simply aren't designed with any form of mobility in mind. Of course, in game terms, it's just to make them easier to catch and thus more vulnerable.

also another thing to consider is that while the kronos may be somewhat fast to warp... once it starts fighting seriously and uses bastion, its stuck where it is for 60 seconds no matter what. Hell thats why in PvP the biggest fear or marauders is to have an anticapital fit dreadnought (which, when you think of it are basically just giant marauders made to kill immobile objects) dropped on their heads, as there is literally nothing they can do against one while stuck in Bastion :p

Golem ought to be run with CN Cruise Missile launchers and CN cruise missiles, even then with at least one target painter. Torps are useless unless battling BS or caps.

LOOOOOL, I lost Paladin just the same way (red giant wh with bonus to SB), I turned on my SB's thinking I was safely far away but turns out the bonnus doubled the range of my SB's and BOOM, Tyranos triggered the wrong time and bye bye Pally! XD
