That was spectacular. I know the egg shape lends itself to this case, but this really points out that this feature is LONG overdue in general. And the pontoons are such a simple and practical addition that all other serious drone makers should have offered long ago. Excellent review Cap'n!

I wouldn't even call this a drone. It's a gimbal camera, pontoon plane, hovercraft, drone, and an egg. All in one! It's like a swiss army knife with wings......or props rather. Lol. The Yuneec Q500 has the handheld gimbal camera too. The camera technology on drones is really pushing the envelope. And it's changing the size and ability of high end image sensors. 1 inch sensors on drones is just crazy. Another great video CAPTAIN!!!! Thanks brother!

I purchased one except without the waterproof kit because I didn’t know that was available when I made my purchase. I would think it would be available as a separate purchase later. The extra screws are included because per manual it says to replace those and throw the old ones away and not to reuse them. Maybe it’s because of the type of locknut used on them. Some of that stuff reacts strangely to different types of plastic and they have it on the screws. Not sure that’s the reason but maybe it is. I do like the drone and the way it flys. Enjoy your channel and keep droning!

Thanks Steve for your PowerEgg-X update. It was cool to see this drone dawning a pair of pontoons, aka - sort of snow shoes in this application. Water test is next. Indoor pool somewhere, or wait until the ice and snow melt late this Spring? Think the pontoons would work well in sandy conditions. (DJI are you listening?????) PowerEgg-X certainly has a bit more to offer in operating environments. Cheers....

Pretty cool Captain. The drone looks awesome with pontoons. I would like to see that for other drones. I don't know why Drone manufacturers do not apply polymer conformal coatings to all electrical circuits and motor/gimbal components making them IP67. It's not that difficult to do in an OEM manufacturing process. Most Cell Phones are now IP65 o IP67 rated now. The Company I worked for would apply these coatings to all aerospace electronics for use by NASA, Military, and Aviation programs.

I like the idea, but the way it cripples the smartshots, OA, etc. is a bit of a downer. I didn't know it would do that. It would still be nice for flying around the water. Wondering if you have since tested it with more of the anti-fog on it to see if it stops the fogging? In some ways, the fogging made a nice vignette in the image. ;-)
@CAPTAINDRONE7984 жыл бұрын
Danny Fyffe It is certainly designed for water which means a warmer climate. Anti-fog works better in such situations. In my test I only put a drop of anti-fog and smeared it around. Different products would give different results. The good thing is that the plastic cover has no effect on image distortion or sharpness, all looked good.

@CAPTAINDRONE7984 жыл бұрын
In my REVIEW #1 of this drone I included the stated flight distance. However I can't fully test such a distance because I live in Canada and we have certain drone regulations. When it comes to wind it is very simple. Every drone with GPS and brushless motors can fly in the wind. The only thing you as a consumer have to be aware of is that the WIND SPEED can NEVER exceed the forward flight speed of a drone or else you'll never get it back.
