I may not always have time these days to respond to a lot of them, but I promise I do read them all! As always, please leave your suggestions below! I'm seeing a lot of requests for the new Warframe song..... and to finish my Irish music album haha Stay very handsome!

@evensollie95943 жыл бұрын
I mean as far as the warframe songs, you're the favorite among cover artists who have done both songs. Edit: Rachel Hardy might be a good person to do it with, after her work with Samuel Kim in his 'What Could've Been' cover, because For Narmer is a very haunting melody and her voice could lend well to warframe again.
@wwsciffsww37483 жыл бұрын
I appreciate that you did this version in another key (Em while your first version and the original song are in Fm). This made your low notes even lower and more powerful, and it is also a more natural key for the violin and guitar. Speaking of instruments, adding those and others makes it much more cinematic and grand-sounding. I really loved the section at 2:21. You changed the bassline, creating some cool chords like Cmaj7 and Asus2. Then you get a bass walk down to the powerful Em chord like before, but you added a D chord right after to change it up even more. Before it repeats, you land on an Am instead of Em (2:47), signaling that the song is not over. The second time around, you skip D and go straight to B, sitting on it for what feels like forever (its 15 seconds!). That makes the final resolution feel so good at 3:19. One thing that you could have done to make it even more dramatic is whenever you have the "Never shall we die" line, raise the pitch of "we" by a half-step. This gives a stronger resolution back to the home chord. Sounds perfectly fine how it is though. I don't know if you were thinking of all these things when you made this (it honestly doesn't really matter to me), but I wanted to say that you did an incredible job with this song.

C'mon pirate! sing with me, the ocean is calling!! The king and his men stole the queen from her bed And bound her in her bones The seas be ours beyond the powers Where we will, we'll roam Yo, ho, all hands Hoist the colours high Heave ho, thieves and beggars Never shall we die Yo, ho, haul together Hoist the colours high Heave ho, thieves and beggars Never shall we die Yo, ho, haul together Hoist the colours high Heave ho, thieves and beggars Never shall we die

Isn't there a second verse? The verse that Elizabeth sings in the next scene. I've noticed that no one ever sings it when they make a cover of the song.

I started watchingi the new League cinematic. I IMMEDIATELY recognized the bass. I checked the description just to be sure. Sure enough: "Additional vocals performed by: Colm McGuinness and SVRCINA" Congrats 😉

Y'all know how rare a true bass is in the vocal world right? Like...that's a unicorn. He's a unicorn. I get chills every time he hits that low and feel it drop in my ribcage. #magick

To be honest, I actually like your less "produced" versions with just you and your amazing voice much better. Not that this isn't amazing! But I feel like there is something more genuine and honest in your simpler versions, not just of this song. You're just too good by yourself, that anything added ends up taking something away I guess.

This is a fair opinion tbh. A Capella versions of songs draw more attention to the voices. Instrumentals can add to and accentuate the voices in the song, but it can also detract attention from them. Personally I have a hard time choosing whether I like these studio versions of songs more or the A Capella ones. They both have their charm. But I get what you mean. Those styles kinda force you to really listen to and appreciate someone's voice as is, and people with less profound sounds about them tend to fall short in those regards without instrumentals to contrast their voice, kinda like adding a bit of salt in cookies or on watermelon to really bring out the sweetness.. same concept with music and singing, adding instrumentals. But from what I've seen, he seems to overwhelmingly excel in versions of songs where it's all just him singing, doing the instrumentals with his voice alone. He's very talented
