It would be... decent for a ship its size. It's got a ton of firepower but the guns aren't set up in superfiring positions, so it can't quite bring _all_ of its weapons on a target simultaneously.

@VestedUTuber been building a ship recently myself (in my fleet I haven't built enough ships to give it a class yet, either fast battle ship or heavy destroyer likely) buy its heavily focused on heavy weapons, and being able to bring as many as possible down on a target as it can at any given time, hence if your on a side... oww... if your in front.... you want to be elsewhere VERY quickly 🤣 it's definitely much smaller than anything shown here, but can pack a hell of a punch and lay down some serious firepower in a very short amount of time... don't get me started on the missiles and torpedos, or it's beautiful PDC's 🤣 it's a warship through and through, built to be tough and rugged, but looks damn good doing so, I'd say the only reason it can't fight something like the vengeance, is because the vengeance (once my ships shields are down) would likely take out huge sections of it since my ship is much smaller than the battle cruiser by a large margin, if I can take out a lot of their pdc's or overwhelm them enough for the torpedos to get in... then it's a different story as thouse torpedos pack a very devastating punch

Amazing battle I’ve created a Dreadnought of my own based around the vengeance called the Exodus. it’s bigger in size with more armor, hanger bays and a decent interior. that’s how well designed the vengeance is.

This was great, I love the fact that at the end all you have to do is turn on a few systems and a little while later the Vengeance is good as new. I've been trying to put a system like that on a few of my ships but I can never get the welders set up right. I can't wait to see it in action again.

Watching this makes me wonder if this was something that could've happened if the green drones didn't show up at the end of Colony wars, because I remember there was this one RWI guy that was planning to attack the old station that was buried into that asteroid, but they got destroyed by the green drones.

Honestly I use the Vengeance as benchmark for how tough/powerful my builds are. (Note to self: test heavy cruiser)

@@rusler159 Testing Complete. My heavy cruiser won after several minutes of combat. However, I will concede some points that balance things in my favor: 1. Both ships were stationary at 2km away from each other, neither engaged in maneuvers. 2. I prefer a different weapons mod than what is used on the Vengeance. 2a. I use the Aryx Weapons Enterprises mod. 3. My heavy cruiser is armed with railgun turrets that can pen 3 blocks of heavy armor and a pair of ion cannons that temporarily disable a target grid which does give me an a few moments where all of my missiles have a chance to hit and destroy gun emplacements. 4. The Vengeance remained combat viable for several minutes even with all the above notes, so I would argue a draw would be a more realistic scenario as an actual player would strive to maneuver out the way of the ion cannons once they realized what they did. Plus maneuvering would give more time for the pdc's to shoot down incoming missiles.

Now to make things fair we gave the Apallo Shields whilst the Vengence a ship built for survival warfare does not need any. Nuff said that's the explanation for who is the winner.

This is actually cool! Might became a new video series idea, where your ship face another submission ships of others. You can make it a limitation for example X number of this guns, and X number of that guns, with XXX PCU maximum etc etc

Working on my own dreadnought currently, I went full “humans are space orcs” level of overkill and installed 2 different shields mods to compliment the triple thick armor layers. I’m on an entirely pve server with modular encounters so I’m basically the end game boss fighting reavers and other hostile factions.

Cool but there is one thing I think needs to change. The graphic for the shields it though be mostly invisible, an energy ripple. Every 30 seconds or 1 minute. And ripples or a little energy sparks or lightning flash when hit but not too much! The current shields obscure the ship completely and probably makes the shut blind. Can change the color of the lightning effects or Ripple to indicate The Shield health Anyway keep up the good work pew pew

So I have some questions, because I feel like given a few factors the apollo would have fared better. Was this survival or creative? If it was creative, then the self repair system on the survival built ship is several degrees stronger than in survival mode given it can repair with no surplus supplies in storage. Also, in terms of sheer weapon output, how long did that fight last? I feel like at a certain point the rapid fire weapons would run out of ammo and suddenly it would be a slug fest of the heavier hitting but slow fire weapons. In a fight where ammo and supplies are a real consideration, I think that the Apollo may actually have an edge with the addition of the shields as they can wait to run your ammo dry. "Even" match with no shields, yea I think even given the prior design considerations, the apollo would not fare well against a ship designed to take and deliver a severe beating like that (though I suspect the total received damage may be higher without that self repair system, even if it would be a massive resource drain). That said, fun to watch, and makes me want to mess around with some of the weapon systems I saw. I do like the sound and look of those railguns firing.

I'm very surprised you're still using the Vengeance without a Warfare 2 retrofit Jack! In my own testing with the ship a small cruiser was nearly able to cripple the ship just because several guns at time would cook off if they were hit. iirc there is also a very large concentration of hydrogen tanks on the ventral side which ended up being a near kill on the ship if hit. Really if the battlecruiser sits back and pelts at the Vengeance from a distance it should win. The Vengeance is relatively slow and a cruiser should have no problem running circles around it. Keeping the Vengeance at the edge of range nullifies the superior firepower of the Vengeance if she's not making use of a turret slaving script. With how closely packed those guns are near every hit with a capital grade weapon should take out a huge chunk of her forward firepower.
