Agreed excellent storytelling. I've said it before in pervious videos and I'll say it again in this one. Sam Potter is one of the best storytellers there is on KZbin... so much passion and wisdom put into each new place on earth you visit. I love how you not only focus on the tiny details of each place, but encapsulate it within this great planet that we do need to take care of and protect... One thing that I realize that brings so much emotion into these videos is the delicate song choice. My question for you is Sam, what is the process in selecting and finding music for your videos? Then, once you find the inspiration or track you like, how do you find the footage to best bring out that song? Cheers man, can't wait for the next Captain's Log

Hey man this isn't a question but this is a massive big ups! I have lost count as to how many times I have watched this video. I come from south Africa and my home is very similar to the places that you visited. I worked with a lot of people from Zimbabwe and I am proud to call them life long friends now. I can't tell you the emotions you have made me feel with this video. Nostalgia being one of them but I think the biggest one is inspiration. The message you send across is amazing and how when you think things aren't going your way but in the end it's just a test to see if you can persevere, that is incredible. You inspire me to keep going at it and work hard even when life is tough. Its proof that things might not always go your way but in the end you will always end up where you need to be. It might not always be where you thought you would be but in the end it's all about living a life that tells an interesting story.

Oh my gosh. When that Odesza song came in! Such a good choice. I put on the whole A Moment Apart album when I was driving to a new home after I'd just moved out and left a damaging relationship and it was so perfect. The album captures the sound of freedom and enlightenment. So beautiful.

Great video! As allways :) A few questions: 1. Do you make a plan for your video's. Certain shots you want etc. 2. Who filmed the cinematics with the elephant? 3. Whats the next thing on your bucketlist? Some questions about your gear: 4. Do you use a gimbal? 5. What drone do you use and which ND filters?

Sam -- as always, incredible stuff. I connect so much with your video storytelling style. Once you started posting Insta stories from your trip, I had a feeling this Captain's Log would be epic... and you didn't disappoint. This was well worth the wait! I love that you are willing to open up and share your insecurities, as that's not an easy thing to do. My first trip to Africa in Kenya and Tanzania still sits at the top of my favorite trips list. Since you've asked for questions, here's one: what are one or two things about Zimbabwe that surprised you compared to what you expected prior to your trip?
