What draft were you thinking and why. …ask yourself. That. I sailedfor almost two decades with 8’ I just didn’t try to beach her Roller furling wasn’t born with Ssilboat. It evolved for raving and simplicity I go think it has s down side in h th hat too many skippers carry too much sail too long. In the old days we read the weather and prepared in advance for wind changes up and down As far as ‘dumping” it a hanked sail can drop to the deck like a rock most of the times. If you get a boat with roller you certainly probably wouldn’t go back to hanks
@claytonallen33612 жыл бұрын
@@YachtHunters I was thinking 4’ draft would keep me out of trouble in the marina entrances, and maybe in the Bahamas someday, my only experience was a small power boat with less than 2’ draft. I expect to take awhile to get experienced at sailing and don’t want to break anything during my “rookie” time.

That Loran C was not original, since Loran A would have been the loran system in place in '72. The unit on this boat was probably from the early 80s. Texas Instrument had some the first yacht Loran C units, which did not have waypoint capability - just TDs ("time delay" readings), which were easily plotted with an interpolation card (which I still have).
