FYI, William the Conqueror was of Viking heritage! His great, great, great grandfather was Rollo, a Viking warrior who first settled the area of Normandy aka the "land of the Norsemen"! My maternal ancestry goes all the way back to William the Conqueror, the surname "Drew", originally of French origin i.e. "Dru", one of the oldest families in England, mentioned in William the Conqueror's Doomsday Book of 1066, where he compiled all the original families of England!

Only issue with this is that William I, Duke of Normandy, was in fact a Viking descendant. The Normans were ruled by "Norsemen" or "Vikings" who were given the duchy of Normandy by the Franks so they would quit attacking the Franks. William I of Normandy can be traced back to Rollo, count of Rouen who was the first ruler of Normandy and was in fact Scandinavian. So England won it's freedom from "Vikings" just to be conquered by other Vikings.

I believe the legend of King Arthur 8:00 was actually in existence for like 400 years prior to this. He was the legend of a Britton King prior to the earlier invasion of the saxons, jutes and Angles. He was the sleeping king that never died. He went to sleep unifying “Britton” and the lore was that he would awaken when the island was in trouble. The Anglo Saxons adopted this story with much of the cultural integration but the and maybe said the this was some embodiment of story but the story did not come “from” him or his reign.

Using the term BCE and CE desecrates and contradicts the history you're telling. These are made up terms to distance History from the birth of Christ...just don't get it. Also, it was the Anglo-Saxon or just Saxons fighting the Vikings not the "British". In that time the Britons were the Welsh and other Celtics peoples.

Celtic is totally bogus as well. It was a 19th century invention that the Irish and Scots were celts. The celts came from modern day Spain and France and were an altogether different ppl. Even genetic research supports that finding. Nobody in those parts of the British Isles ever referred to themselves as celtic before the 1800s. If you know different I'd love you to provide your evidence. As it is what I'm saying has been pretty well researched and is largely agreed up by modern academics.

“Britain doesn’t have a very strong Viking history…” Well… 1) There was no Britain back then 2) The Viking capital back then was at York (in the north of England), which they referred to as “Jorvik” and …. 3) Danelaw (Viking Danish law) was in force in the north of England and in many other parts of England for centuries. Really wish people like you would keep your armchair opinions to yourselves.

The word British as a single people as the English are a single people is like saying the Scottish and Irish are a single people, The English came to America when the Romans invaded England we came running from Constantine. The British were Roman at the time had to be well the rulers thereof anyway. I do wish to know why everyone wants to rule over the English any clues as to why they still call it England since we haven't been there in over 1500 years?

Oh, wait I know it is because we are Gods people. Too bad we had already left to the most distant lands! Isaiah 66.19 “I will set a sign among them, and I will send some of those who survive to the nations-to Tarshish, to the Libyans and Lydians who use the bow and to Tubal and Greece, and to the distant islands that have not heard of my fame or seen my glory. They will proclaim my glory among the nations. 20 And they will bring all your people, from all the nations to my holy mountain in Jerusalem as an offering to the Lord-on horses, in chariots and wagons, and on mules and camels,” says the Lord. “They will bring them, as the Israelites bring their grain offerings, to the temple of the Lord in ceremonially clean vessels. 21And I will select some of them also to be priests and Levites,” says the Lord.

And yet the Danish Vikings that invaded greater Europe and assimilated into the culture, adopting the French language were highly successful. The Norman attack on England transformed the remaining Anglo-Saxon peoples into a dominant Norman led one. This is why 40% of the English language is derived from French.
