Literally!!! It would just make it feel so much more immersive and authentic. Because we can't have them speak English the whole time, otherwise the switching of languages can't happen like it does in the books.

Captive prince peaked my interest, Prince's Gambit stole my heart, and I have just a few chapters left of King's Rising, and I already KNOW this series will live rent-free in my mind forever

Damen and Laurent have been living rent free in my head for like almost 2 years and I WANT TO KICK THEM OUT 😂No other book has captured my imagination quite as Captive Prince did since I first read it. So I'm still on the hunt for another book that can compete with it, but no luck so far 🥲But yes a key thing with Laurent is someone who can pull off his cool distain and little nuances to the way he expresses himself.

I'm desperately waiting for it to happen! There’s just so much they could do with it, because its not just the 3 books but the short stories as well could be incorporated into it. But in saying that, the Captive Prince trilogy sells itself so Hollywood better not DARE to mess up anything.

@@sydnarrative very true, it either has to be perfectly adapted, or not adapted at all, and I would like it to include everything in the novels, despite how dark the concepts and themes may be, it’s got to be realistic in terms of the fictional world of Akielos and Vere

For Laurent I was thinking more about Jamie Campbell Bower (as Will in the show Shakespeare). He’s like the only actor I can actually picture as Laurent, because I think he’s (physically) Laurent to a T.

literature is fascinating, it's amazing how each of us can create a world full of images by reading the same stories. Particularly when I read I imagine all the scenes and characters. for example the damian I imagined exactly like you. on the other hand, laurent, only came to my mind a singer/actor, who despite being Chinese, has a very refined and delicate beauty just like Laurent. he recently did 2 photo shoots with blonde hair and Prince outfits which made me remember how perfect he would look from Laurent. His name is Luhan, if you look for the 2021 grazia magazine photo shoot, you'll get a sense of what I'm talking about

lately I've feel so nostalgic over captive prince, ♥ since I used to be such IN DEEP with them, the fandom, fanfics and stuff (aside from the very toxic side) and I'm so glad there's still people talking about our fav kings from time to time, I honestly dont want their moment to fade and Im still waiting for Pacat's big surprise :') Now thanks to stranger things I've felt that Jamie Campbell Bower got much more recognition and I'm so happy for him since he's been in the forever cast in our fandom but I agree with you about new actors and part of the LGBTQ. And of course! their languague, maybe using some antique french and greek for certain situations would be amazing!!! Anyways, what I was about to say... since Pacat got the inspiration mainly from the imagen of griffith, bjorn Andersen and so on, I've seen an australian model that resembles so much to him and is crazy I just imagine him like laurent wich I agree with you is very difficult to fit that role; his name is Jarvis Aivali And for Damen is even harder! My friends and I always wanted the brazilian model Marlon Teixeira to play as Damen... hes the only I've felt his energy, one can dream on.... hahahaha I think is time for my 5th reread of them ♥

I know Dane DeHaan is too old to play Laurent now, but ever since I read the books, I imagined Laurent looking like young blond Dane DeHaan in Kill Your Darlings. I've met Dane, and can confirm he's pretty in a kind of feminine way, and of average-short height, which I think it's the right height for Laurent?

I have too much of an obsession with Robert Pattinson because a younger version of him in The King was how I saw Laurent except he could actually fight. I adore your cast choices. Damen is so hard!!!!!! Cody would be marvelous and if he was Laurent I would be over the moon. I know Ancel has long red hair but I'd make an acception for Ezra Miller. Jason Mamoa as Makedon...I was floored because original I had him as Kastor but you proved me wrong. Timothee could be Erasmus or Aimeric to me. Mads is 100% Torveld. I see Jason Isaacs as The Regent.

I agree, and I think that plays well into the androgynous aspect of Laurent. I always get the image of him mixed up in my head, like he has to be feminine enough to pass as Jokaste in the wagon, but also subtly masculine? "You never associated him with a body, you were always dealing with a mind."
