Thank you so much for you time sir ! Im one of the real world q400 pilot and found your vid absolutely useful! Watching is a lot easier to understand than reading lol. Looking forward for more of your vid about the 400 system , cheers

Thanks. Glad you find them so helpful. I think the reason so many pilots find them helpful is that I go right back to basics since my original target audience was simmers who often have no real world experience. Please keep in mind that because my target is simmers, I do occasionally simplify so be sure to have a quick skim of your AOM to confirm what I have said is correct. Cheers and Fly Safely!

"Holy Smoke"! This IS a critical section that literally all passengers should know how cabin pressuring is done, I think! Like rock group Queen's tune from a few decades ago "Under Pressure" (with the late singers: Freddie Mercury and David Bowie did so fine) this segment of Pressuring is amazing! 5.46...5.95...0.50...and 8000 are numbers to know in this aircraft - the beautiful Q 400. " In case of emergency...DON'T PANIC...THINK CLEAR and DO WHAT the CREW SAYS!"

TOP EXPLANATION
@B1900pilot4 жыл бұрын
Pressurization system on the Q is basically about as simple as it gets to operate...Very reliable...Basically, a "set-it-and-forget-it" system. We did experience occasional CPC faults on take-off that were quickly cleared by cycling from AUTO to MAN and back to AUTO.

Many many many thanks, so no passenger oxygen donning switch on Q400 like Boeing aircraft?
@CaptNabs5 ай бұрын
@@yaredlemma5025 Nope. Passenger oxygen is not required for flight at or below FL250. This is why most turboprops are limited to 250. Not because the engines can't do it, but to save the weight and complexity of a passenger oxygen system.

@@CaptNabs thank you very much, will check the system

@@CaptNabs SO CAPT NABS, checked with Ethiopian airlines Q400S, Half their Q400S hv it. Also in many places, it’s optional just like you said it to reduce complexity. Thank you 🙏🏾

One day. Sadly I got too busy with other projects to focus on the Dash anymore. Make sure to subscribe and you will find out when they release.

@@CaptNabs roger that, sub'd... I totally understand, I'm just being a brat... your tutorial videos are without a doubt the most clear, concise, & complete on youtube for the dash8

These videos show nothing about starting the engines. A disappointing flight simulator!!

These videos are technical training. They explain how the systems are put together but are not intended to teach daily operating procedures. I had intended to publish procedure videos when I finished the system videos, but that never happened. They ended up being much more work than I ever expected.

And I did actually do many recordings of myself flying the Dash 8. You will be able to see engine starts from many of these videos. Check out the first 2 seasons in My Pilot's Life series. A Pilot's Life: kzbin.info/aero/PLu9QH2qKI5mpV0yrlvSH93tof95dPCrnh
