Looking to add Curves to your workflow? Join us for this quick live session on how to ingrate them into your editing process.
Curves are a long-established tool that give fine control over contrast and brightness in your photos. In Capture One, individual channel control provides another way to color grade or correct color casts and with the beauty of Luma curves, you can separate contrast and brightness from color.
To see these in action, sign up and join!

Thank you so much for doing this one, David. KZbin is very helpful as usually I cannot watch live, and for many of them like this, I need to watch twice to make sure i get all the points (plus I can come back when editing).

Thank you David. I'm a long time fan of C1 but time to time look at your videos whenever I need a refresher.

It would be a great feature if the user could click on a spot on the image and C1 would drop a point on the luminance curve that corresponds with that luminance value.

How do you change your menu bar to be that color? I find that color of the menu bar to be fascinating. Thank you.

Not sure whether you can click one point on the photo to create a point on your curve and then drag your mouse up (on the picture instead of curve) to increase the curve? (I remember lightroom be able to do that)

I've been an Aperture user but am now thinking of switching over to Capture One. I'm using the trial version. One question - can you 'add curves adjustments' like in Aperture? I found it very convenient being able to fine tune curves adjustments by using more than one curve. I've looked for a way of doing this but haven't found one.

Hi Patrick, You can use multiple layers and use the layer tool on each one, this also gives you the added value to change the opacity on each layer for more fine tunning.

Just curious, are you using a Wacom? If so, how are you scrolling on the tools on the left side without grabbing the scrollbar?

Hi David. It is well-known that Sony cameras tend to boost the greens a bit. Is there any chance to correct this, building up a preset with curves?. And I mean a preset that can be applied to a whole bunch of photos, not on a single one only. In Photoshop I do it setting the input for the greens in 132 and the Output in 128 Thanks so much for your fantastic educational work

You can set the right White Balance value in the respective tool and save it as a preset (hit the three parallel lines).

Hi! Does anyone know if I can copy my RGB curve to my other curves in the same image? Say I make an s-curve in RGB, then I want to copy that exact curve onto my luma, red, green and blue curves.
