Thanks for showing culling, which I believed is really only useful for wedding and studio professional photographers but I after the video I checked it out and it even helps me. I even got the card reader you showed and it is five times faster on my computer. This does not help C1 financially but it is nice when people like you share the knowledge beyond their product they sell.

Hi Roland Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you found out, that culling does help you and that you could use Davids advice on choosing the right card reader.

Very useful tutorial, thank you. I think the grouping is a useful feature. btw storage transfer rates are typically listed in B/s (Bytes per sec) as opposed to bps (bits per sec) - which tend to be data comms.

Nice work Capture One team. This one of the major features that got me to finally jump ship from Adobe in Jan/Feb. Great software, appreciate the quality of this software!

Great feature which does away for the need for 3rd party culling software. So, for me as an amateur it is well worth the upgrade (along with smart adjustments). Thank you David for another comprehensive video.

Many thanks David, very useful with the new C1 v23pro. Next step (v24?): Before import, grouping photos without faces (ie: any burst mode, for street or wildlife photography). Maybe to remind the powerful C1 sessions to optimize the import? I always start by creating a new session (at home or on the go, then fully imported - ie selected photos with their editing, but keeping them in the sessions location - in the main catalog, later on), before importing into the capture folder of this session: To directly import in this new session/capture folder would be a great improvement (has to be explicitly specified so far, source of error when I forget), as well as adding the session name to ‘capture’.

I’ve just culled 500 pictures in C1 23, noticeable speed increase even without grouping. So far I’m very glad I went for subscription!

I have been using Photo Mechanic for years. Not sure I will going forward. Pretty incredible addition. Wish this was out before I came back from Botswana with 7500 pictures.

I think there should be an option to use the raw files instead of the embedded JPEGs. Many cameras (Olympus, Sony …) only embed lower resolution JPEGs and you will not be able to fully judge focus or detail.

Personally I always find it quicker to cull my photos before importing. What is behind the decision of the people who own Capture 1 to alienate their customers with the new pricing structure.

Awesome features in CO-23!! I realize the question of "can we group by time" has been asked, but will it be possible in the near future. I also think this feature will pave the road to batch HDR, am I right to think that?

Hi Erik, Thank you for the feedback! I don't have information on this, but I suggest you create a feature request on our website so our developers can see how requested this is captureone.co/featurerequest

Using embedded preview to RAW files sounds smart but testing with Nikon RAW the image quality is terrible. The photos looks like pour JPEG. I don't think it provides good conditions to to pick which photos to use.

Great features! is there a reason why C1 does not allow us to RENAME the colour tags? eg, red = Full Edit, Green = Maybe, etc Thanks

I don't have information on this, but I highly suggest that you create a feature request on our website captureone.co/featurerequest. The more detail you can include about how this would benefit your workflow, the easier it will be for our developers to look into this.

Can you match raw file with embedder jpeg? It would be great start for further editing..

Hi Mario, you can pair the files upon import enabling 'Pair RAWs and JPEGs' in the Naming Tab. Click '...' to find that option. Thus, they will be located next to each other in Browser. If this function doesn't satisfy your needs, please share some details on what you wish to achieve.

@@CaptureOne Is there a way to read camera settings by witch jpeg is created and than to apply this settings to raw?
@CaptureOne
@CaptureOne Жыл бұрын
If you're talking about the basic camera settings as Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO etc. they are the fixed ones, so you can't copy this Metadata from one file to another, no matter what format the files have. However, many cameras will likely have a setting allowing you to shoot and save in RAW and JPEG at the same time. That would allow you to have all the advantages of both file types.

I must admit not to see any benefit in ordering images before or while importing them. I import all images all the time and order them as soon as they are in place on the HD. For faster culling it would be much more useful to have the most present image centered in browser view instead of having the corresponding thumb always at the far right end not seeing how many of a certain scene are available. The grouping might be helpful - it is not tested yet.

Hey Ed. Click the "Cog" icon and change the resolution. It can default to a lower one if your internet is not up to speed.
