There is an ironic truth to what you say. I've heard numerous analysts over the years say that the best that NK has are the ones you see on parade; both in terms of personnel and equipment and even they are questionable. The reality is evidently, that the average NK soldier - the ones you never get to see - are no better off than the average NK citizen -impoverished, malnourished, mistreated, unmotivated, poorly equipped with incomplete and threadbare uniforms and largely left to fend for themselves. The bulk of their gear too is old, outdated, clapped out, rusted out and barely serviceable. Beyond their special forces and their intelligence services, there's not much to the NK military beyond raw numbers.

@@DONOSTIA45An armistice is a formal agreement between warring parties to stop fighting. It is a temporary suspension of hostilities and is not necessarily the end of a war. The Korean Armistice Agreement was signed on July 27, 1953, ending the Korean War and establishing the boundary between North and South Korea. It is why there is a North and South Korea; consequently, the demilitarized Zone (DMZ) was created by pulling back forces 1.2 miles (2 km) on either side of the boundary. The DMZ is the world's most fortified international border. Since 1953, the hermit kingdom and its military have had almost no practical combat experience. Placing such ineptness with battle hardened troops is crazy. Russia is sacrificing needlessly the lives of too many men with such a stupid endeavor. At the same time the Norks show their incompetence to NATO. We now know exactly what we would be dealing with, how to wipe them out should war resumed on the Korean Peninsula.

If there was no China human tsunami surprise tactic then there wouldn’t be 2 Korean countries currently as North Korea lost soundly. It became a stalemate as both China and the US really didn’t want to keep contributing to a “lost cause” after the Chinese and N Korean forces were again pushed back to what is now the DMZ and both backing countries kinda dipped out. It was a weird ending to the fighting but yea. Technically no country lost that war as it was never truly resolved.

when you consider technology that the army soldier has access to, the north koreans are actually pretty well trained for a conflict that matches their technology. however, that is decades behind NATO, russia, china, and many other countries. crossing an open field a few km behind the contact line would be ok for them, but against fpv drones, thats just asking for mass casualties
@PandaPanda-ud4ne4 күн бұрын

Yes this is typical of the North Koreans, very disciplined, well trained, very centralized command, they really follow the commanders word to the letter, however when they fight in real combat, no flexibility, even worse flexibility than Russian combat doctrine however higher morale and bit more discipline than Russian troops, when they go into real combat, they follow choreographed rotes as they had practiced to the letter, that is why you see them bunched up and nice juicy targets for drones and artillery. yah and they shoot at any drone, let them waste ammo. very amusing. also these North koreans are excellent cannon fodder. As a note the South Korean army is similiar however the South Korean army uses a much better US combat doctrine which while the South Korean army is much more disciplined than the US army, and more centralized command, and better trained too esp. in hand to hand combat, there is less flexibility in command compared to the US army. however the South Korean army has more flexibility in command than the NKs. with better gear too.

@@handlepan63957 agree I had the same assessment of East Asians, also look at their languages, esp. the Chinese and Japanese languages that use Chinese characters, supposedly you have to know 10K characters to be fully literate in the Japanese and Chinese languages, and to do that its all rote memorization. Also their soldiers are the same, the NKs and Chinese armies are even worse since they use Soviet combat doctrine which is already heavilly centralized with low operational flexibility and make it even more centralized and even less flexible.

The USSR had little input and can be disregarded. The contemporary history books and especially aided by the main stream media are rewriting history.

Not some Army of ten thousand like the North Koreans. You saying there are no North Korean troops in Russia makes no sense, especially when North Korea and Russia says they are there, and now there are captured North Koreans in Ukraine. Aside from that, Russia is attacking a democratic country. They booted out a pro Putin dictator who was financed bigly by Russia, as evidenced by his life style and possessions that rich fellow left behind. Shades of Assad. The history is all there. Paul Manafort trying to reshape his image to be more palatable, getting paid millions whether he succeeded or failed. The real sad part about all this is the proper way to get influence in another country is economically. Russia could have rebuilt relationships and a partnership with Ukraine economically but chose invasion, death and more death. And lying about Ukraine and it's president. The state in Russia controls the media. They can't have open media in Ukraine. SAVVY?
