It likely has to be pretty powerful so it might be the majority of the bulk of the tool are batteries and transformers and some electronics to broadcast a specified frequency or something.

Civilian, non- military targets have been targeted. More than be counted. I haven't seen so many people surrender or be captured since Iraq. And this is against Ukraine. Against a real military they wouldn't stand a chance. For anybody curious about what the weapon is that the officer is holding. We call it a “Drone Defender” in the US Navy. It jams GPS signal from the drone and can either force it to descend/land or completely cut the signal off entirely sending it into the ground. It’s limited range based on the mode you utilize but these weapons are very much real. The model he’s using is definitely old but it’s the same concept

Technically that's a dji 4th gen , it has a stabilizer so in case the operator doesn't press anything , it would maintain position, but also it's meant to fly back home if it loses signal

Don't they have auto land incase your controller dies ? I don't even have a drone but I'm pretty sure they do... so if the signal from the controller and the drone is simple blocked. Not the dones WiFi but somthing to block the connection them yes the drone would slowly come down and land, sometimes they will hover for 10 seconds to see if it can regain connection with the controller. Normally they return to the controller in errors but if it can't find the controller then it comes straight down

That gun is actually a real deal. It tracks the movement of drones. It then predicts where it will fly and make aim adjustment. The barrel is so big because it launches a heavy net, that will damage and ground the drone. These kinds of gun is being used in countries everywhere, because you can take down civilian drones in restricted airspace (such as demonstrations, football stadiums, etc.) without risking live ammunition hurting people or causing panics.

Even if you could lock onto the correct frequency (which an amateur with a $10 device could do on a dji mavic.. call it an mitm attack), you’d have to attack the underlying application or cut comms until the battery died (assuming the return home feature wasn’t turned on)… largely the same with jamming gps. So why don’t you teach me something and stop being toxic/contributing to the hysteria? There are holes to poke in this of course - wrote it while walking in a crowded area. Seriously, what attack vector would they use to do it. If it’s a gap in my knowledge, please do educate us (there would be many of us who would be interested in this ancient tech you’re referencing). You don't need a rifle, just blast 2.4 ghz or 5 ghz at it and drown out it's command signals and it'll either land or RTH. This is clearly staged though, nothing Russia ever says or does is legit. Which begs the question. Did you know the USSR were the ONLY people to discover death camps in WW2? That's why Churchill and the other leaders never mentioned the holocaust, not even once. Its worth noting that even a cheap quad can be modified, or even flat out carry a small amount of exsplosive. The surveillance capability of even a modest drone can be incredibly usful on the battle field. It looks like the drone had lost contact with transmiter and was trying to land or , was heading to it default bug put position.

I have a cheap quad (DJI) and it struggles trying to carry any payload larger than a lego; so it definitely can't carry even a small grenade You need a semi-decent drone to do that, but there are commercially available ones which are relatively cheap to military standards but still expensive to a common person
